Pikeville is in the driver seat for #1 seed,    Hazard will lose 2 more game before playoffs to Bardstown & Pikeville.

I really don’t understand this RPI system so that is why I asked and I have seen some on here asking if a team loses to a team but then has a real good year according to points on the RPI they could be a higher seed. So I guess we just have to hope to win out and see what happens

Correct. Just need 1 or 2 seed to be at home until Kroger. Pikeville has an open and look for Russellville to cancel/forfeit so still some unknowns how it will shake out but hoping Pikeville has a 1 or 2 seed
Won’t it hurt Pikeville just having 9 games? Are they still trying to find a game or just going to settle with 9 games? That Lawrence County/Raceland game at the end of the season will play a big role in rpi
Pikeville may end up with 8 games

Why is that? I just looked up their schedule on Khsaa and it has them playing 9??

You said Russellville may cancel/forfeit? Would this be due to geography and Russellville not having a good team this year?  Whatever the reason I think a team should follow through with a scheduling commitment and Russellville should have never scheduled it if they weren’t going to be serious about playing.
Possible Raceland only has nine games. Fairview may throw in the towel.

Well they knew the geography when they scheduled. Game supposed to be at Somerset but Russellville may just be dodging a beat down if they cancel. We shall see.

That would be a smart move by Fairview.  Who would want to watch that game?

Not disagreeing with you, but I'm not sure you can can cancel a district game just to avoid a beatdown.
Teams cannot cancel a game without consequence of paying the contractual fee and taking a forfeit loss. The covid policy of ducking opponents to avoid a beatdown without consequence is no longer valid in the KHSAA. If Russellville or Fairview cancel, Pikeville and Raceland would be awarded forfeit wins and would be entitled to a forfeit fee.
Every school has faced beatdown years. To cancel a game without cause other than "beCAUSE we dont want our ass kicked" is bush league at best.
If you dont want to face the beatdown issues then just play a jv schedule
We all talk about these beat downs but my opinion is a beat down does no good for either team. Winner gains nothing and the loser don’t either so I rather see a good football game with a competition that a running clock. Yes I know that with the district games some can’t be avoided. I think it might be best to play those games early and get them over with than at the end of the schedule but now that is my opinion only but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fairview do this in the next couple of years.
If Fairview forfeits it won’t just be the Raceland game. They would shut down the rest of the season for safety reasons. If a school does this I truly feel bad for what they are going through. Nobody wants that for any program. If Fairview is capable of finishing the season safely I think they will but we will see after this week. Idk what their numbers are right now but I know they didn’t start with much

The bad part about that situation is the people who sunk the ship were able to move on without any consequences from the fallout.
KHSAA should hold the cancelling school’s feet to the fire except for a very solid and valid reason. That or those reason(s) should be stated in the KHSAA rules. A beat down will serve no purpose other than the losing team getting the shit beat out of them and a glorified practice for the stronger team.
Bad news for Fairview is they have paintsville before Raceland.

Should get rid of districts when using RPI. Being forced to play weak teams is an RPI killer
