About what I figured. Thought Chs and BC would be a little closer. But I guess the computers aren’t real high on pikeville right now
Its early, and this is the earliest RPI poll to come out so it will look odd the first couple of weeks... IMO...
3rd Round if the season ended today...

Boyle will play Johnson Central at home........

Corbin will play Lexington Catholic at home.....
Perry way too high, Johnson way too low but tons better than Class A and 2A

Pikeville being 1A is why it doesn't count as high as Boyle's wins against Henderson and Bowling Green.  Will probably inch a little closer after a big win against SK even though SK isn't as good as Pikeville.  Really doesn't matter as long as they stay #2.  If they both win out I don't see how Corbin passes Boyle with the win over the 5A Bowling Green and 6A Henderson with their records.  Best chance Corbin has at #1 RPI is with a Boyle loss to Frederick Douglas.
I don’t think it matters if Boyle loses to FD barring Boyle beats Lex Cath and North Hardin.

I’d say you are right. I like RPI but that’s the one thing I don’t like. It does little good to play a solid team in any class
below you. Like you said. A win vs an avg 5A school is better than a win versus a #1 A or AA school.

yea I don’t think we’ll pass boyle up probably even if they lose to FD. Your district is tougher with Lex cath and we don’t have any good solid teams left. I hate our scheduling. But again, you said it. Unless we lose a game, I don’t see anyone passing us either.

Perry also lost their starting center, so if they was too high before they gonna be bad shape now lol.   Prayers for Gibson though, he’s a great kid, and hate to see his senior year end like this..

1-4 Franklin County is not helping Corbin’s RPI either.  Even though, I feel they are the #1 4A team in the west, computers are just about the numbers and 1-4 are not good.

Yes I forgot about them. They have a tough schedule. But like some others, I’m still not sold on good they are either. I do believe them, Scott co, and Bryan station are all on the same level, you could probably flip a coin and have better results picking a winner out of a series between them. Both Corbin and Boyle best those tier of teams by a very decisive margin. But I’ve said it many times. It’s boyle and Corbin. Then JC and Lex cath.   By how close that gap is, is still TBD in my view. We are about to see how the coaches develop the players in this last month and a half and see how seperates themselves
What I like is a #1 and #2 both have home field throughout and can only meet in the finals.

I feel Lex Cath and Johnson Central will be tough outs in the 3rd. round so 1 or 2 is not a huge advantage.

4th. Round has so many different scenarios with a slight upset in round 3 would be crazy to figure out. But, if you’re a 1 or 2 it’s at home.
A soft schedule doesn't do you any justice. If boyle goes 9-1 they will still be #1. Corbin needs to quit playing a cupcake schedule and start playing a man's schedule. If they don't they nevermore it past the 2nd or 3rd round in the play offs. No disrespect to Corbin what so ever,it's the coach and AD. That does this. The Corbin players are playing their hearts out.
It’s got better this year. I get it’s hard to judge how a team is gonna be in a year. It’s probably a little tougher than what it shows on paper with pikeville and FC having hard schedules and Pulaski and SK are decent. But last year was atrocious, and they knew that. But yea, def not any favors. With it this year, i will say it will be a Toss up if they got unbeaten and another team loses a game. Last year, no question haha
I don't think it's a toss up this year with the RPI. BC has a sizable lead in RPI with 6A North Hardin, #4 in 4A RPI Lex Cath, and #1 in 5A RPI FD still on the schedule. North Hardin and Campbell will be a wash in terms of RPI, and Lex Cath plus FD will weigh much heavier than anyone left on Corbin's schedule.
I am very curious to see the RPI next week after Boyle plays North Hardin. How big will the gap be between 1 and 2?
Sometimes schedules look better when they are made than they end up being. Corbin scheduled Franklin coming off a state runner up game plus Pulaski etc. Franklin's struggles have been a surprise.

You ain’t kidding..
Corbin needs to schedule a 6A school plus a couple of top 5A teams. That would better prepare them for the run to the state championship. Don't look for the easy win. Pulaski and Franklin is a big surprise being down.

I agree to and extent. Playing a pikeville prepares you more than playing a decent 5A school. But not in RPI. they need to fix that. But I would like to see bigger schools on the schedule. I wouldn’t say PC is down. They are a good little team with some very good athletes. FC, I don’t even know what’s going on with them. But I think PC might turn some heads the next 5 weeks

I agree 100% on this!  Top tier small schools are tougher than some 6A cupcakes.
Corbin needs to stop playing Simon Kenton and Campbell County and step it up a bit more. Ultimately, It almost seems like they're (coaches) more content with having 10-0 regular seasons opposed to a ring on their finger. Throw Pulaski Southwestern, Great Crossing, Greenwood, or some solid 5A school on the schedule instead of Campbell County. They'd be a likely win but games that could come down to the 4th and it helps the RPI.

Flashes of the Jewell era.
Gotta love Corbin football. Outsider comes in with great success, excitement, and has the program cooking but doesn't buy into the crooked politics and daddy ball. He ends up essentially getting ran out of town only for a hometown assistant coach to get promoted and rack up wins against cupcakes (for the most part) but brings no titles and sets the program back to 1982.

At least Jewell would play some tough opponents. Lex cath. Henry clay when they were good.

I often wonder if on the application for Corbin job and coaches if there’s two questions at the bottom of it

1)Do you have family that works for Corbin independent school system?

2)Were you part of the 1982 championship football team? If yes, see question 2A

2A) what job would you like? And just
Go ahead and start it whenever
              You like.
Fellow Hound fans I just want to say one thing here, and lord knows I’m as guilty as the next one, but our boys have really been playing their hearts out since season began….I promise I share many of your concerns and complaints but let’s take a few steps back on here….Our boys are reading these things and I think you all would agree it would break my heart for any of them to think I wasn’t very proud of them…There will be plenty of time after the season to carry on with these conversations….
