Final.....

Congratulations Boyle!!!
I picked Boyle 44-7. Not too far off.

Boyle looked good tonight and get some key players back from Injuries this team could become even better.

4A had some very intriguing scores tonight.

Looks like Haddix squeaks by another one. One day these close games will bite him...(cough...Louisville Central, let's go for 2...). Good job Boyle.
Boyle looked a lot better last night than they did last week. Keep up the good work.

The game wasn't even mildly competitive.

JayceCrowe was wearing #55, he is a junior .

That’s why most Boyle fans consider Lexington Catholic as our main rival, I heard talk that at one point Coach Smith considered dropping Danville from the schedule because they weren’t competitive.
They were competitive when that VanCleave kid was doing the Funky Chicken on his way to the endzone over and over again. I've seen matchups were Boyle was not that competitive as well. In the late 80s and 90s I remember the Ads going on about a 20 game winning streak. The tide flows, and will always come back in at some point.

But for now, I do agree, Danville is in no way competitive. And I don't think parents and admin will allow Peach to get them back to competitive. IMO if they bring back Clevenger or even, a legend to come back. Danville will always have talent, and just need coached up, put in a good system and also buy into the coach's philosophy and believe. It'll happen, and most likely in less than a decade.

In my opinion, you’re gonna start seeing less and less of “cross town” rivalries.  Or it would be lopsided at best. 20 years ago, kids didn’t transfer, or very few to the city school from the county oe vice versa. I would to see more annual rivalries, but outside if maybe Lex or Louisville, they’re beginning to become extinct. Not to switch topics, but that’s why I like cross districting. Beating up the same ole teams gets old. I loved when FatPat and his patriots came to town.  Glad we got back to it.

Definitely a fair point. It just seems weird to not have Danville/Boyle. When I worked up there we would take half a day of vacation time, go to the Colliseum, or Rebel field and have a treat. I think in the 7 games I went to Boyle won one of them. Danville was so freakishly fast. Lincoln was very good then still too, especially one season, maybe '95 (or '96) but got killed in the playoffs. I worked with a fresh out of high-school kid named Kinte Bess who ran like a legit 4.3-4.4 forty. I still remember a friend I had made talking at break about "fearing the drug test" for the factory we were at. Kinte looks at us, "mannnn, I was high when I was pissen in the cup"...:-D He was escorted out 2 weeks later, failed test. :-) He was funny as heck, and had been recruited to play at some school in Illinois. He should have been D1. Jewel Grey, etc.., some of the  Ford's, etc.. worked there too. Danville was a hotbed of talent.

Best was a super player.  I can name a lot of kids, in a lot of schools who just didn't keep it together to go further.
So funny to hear Danville fans complain about transfers. They have received transfers from not only Boyle but the surrounding counties for years. Talk about the Danville speed. Heard that just a week ago. Wake up. Everyone has speed. Talk about the past all you want to, if it makes you feel better. The reality of the matter is that since Boyle really committed to football they have dominated this rivalry as well as their statewide competition.
