Not sure what that means but, last week proved 1 thing, it’s dangerous to take some teams for granted. We’ve all seen games where we scratch our heads and think ( how the heck did that team win). Or, you can look at that same game, scratch your head and think ( maybe we aren’t as good as we thought). Anyway you look at it, it happened, mayfield took it on the chin and couldn’t stop it. Hard for us mayfield fans to swallow but it was good ammunition for all the mayfield haters, whoever they may be and seems to be many of them. Our program still stands strong, and year after year we will be in the top tier of 2A football. It’s been a while since we’ve won a state championship, but we’ve been there and done that, MANY TIMES, and mayfield hasn’t hoisted their last championship trophy. PROUD CARDINAL

When was the last Championship team at Mayfield? Murray beating Mayfield 2 times in a row has to be a bitter pill. Mayfield will win this week and handle Murray in the playoffs for the District Championship but from there the road goes uphill, but who knows?

I think the assumption that Mayfield will beat Murray in the district championship is rather uneducated. Caldwell County dominated Murray. Caldwell was up 20-0 very late in the 4th qtr until Murray completed a couple long passes to make the score appear close. Last score was with 11 seconds left and was gifted to Murray cause the wr stepped out of bounds at the 6. The game was never in jeopardy for Caldwell. Shocked at how everyone dismisses that game which occurred the week before they beat Mayfield.

I just feel Mayfield will surely adjust to Murray's run offense and stop enough to beat them in the district playoffs, if they don't it will be one of the worse beatings Mayfield has ever had.
