Whitley is 2-3. They are 5A district 8. They run the single wing on offense. They run a 52 on defense. They have lost to Middlesboro, Bell County and ahem Perry Central this season. Two of the losses were on the road. They have beaten North Laurel and Newport, both wins being at home.
Their defense has been pretty sound in every game except the Perry Central game where they gave up 52 points. They scored exactly 14 points in each of their first three games. They have put up about 40 points per game in their last two games.
They are rated as one of the worst ten 5A teams in the state and in the bottom 20 teams overall in the state by the news paper rankings. This rating is probably a fair representative of their play thus far this season.
In Summary: They are not very good and they are not likely to get much better this season.
