Didn't James Bond pull something like that in Die Another Day where he faked that he was dying in order to escape captivity? I believe he somehow stopped his own heartbeat and caused his monitor alarms to all go off, then came back to life when he was shocked with the paddles.

Anyway, sucks to be that coroner right now...
