I have seen many dishonest and ridiculous threads created by our resident socialists, but this one has to be near the top in that category.
Russia is doing the kind of recruiting ads that this country was doing in recent years before Democrats decided to turn our military into a diversity lab. Cruz was not praising Russia - he was criticizing the way that our military is recruiting under Biden. Trying to soften the image of the military is a mistake. The end result will either be an increase in the number of young men and women who wash out because they did not expect the rigorous, disciplined training required to prepare for war - or, military standards will fall to avoid sending so many recruits home. Recruiting videos should not lead anybody to believe that life in the military is easy because it isn't nor should it be. Recruiting videos should appeal to people's patriotism, sense of duty, and desire to "be the best that they can be."

Cruz is right. Our military does not recruit the way that it did a few years ago - but it should. The appeal to patriotism and duty never goes out of style. Our adversaries know this to be a fact.
