The Comets are coming off their most successful season in school history. 7-3 regular season. 9-4 overall with a 2A District Championship. West Carter outscored their district opponents 244-31 in 7 district games last season. On offense the Comets return 1803 of their 1942 receiving yards and 1413 of their 1459 rushing yards. Key offensive returners include junior WR Jackson Bond (34 catches 609 yards 10 TD's),senior RB Leetavious Cline (156 carries 927 yards 12 TD's), and senior QB Orry Perry (1,678 yards 22 TD's 10 INT's). However, their defense, which allowed 12.5 ppg last season will have multiple starters to replace. Key defensive returners include senior DL Gavin Gibson (22 TFL's), and senior DB Gage Leadingham (6 INT's). The Comets 4 losses last season came from 8-3 3A Mercer County, 7-4 3A county rival East Carter, 9-3 3A Russell, and 8-6 2A Beechwood. Thoughts and predictions for the comets this season? According to KHSAA their 2020 schedule is as follows.

This new 2A district West Carter is in has really set them up to have some playoff success.
West Carter will be traveling to Greenup County on November 6th for the 9th game of their regular season.
