The article when listing the teams has a lot of them in the wrong places. But that is huge for West Carter.
Some observations
1. 3A is brutal!!!!
2. NewCath is getting ready to take over 1A.
3. Beechwood better get ready to start accepting those runner-up trophies again.
4. Class 5A district two is very interesting. Some big in-town rivalries.
5. Looks like we are going back to Trinity-St. X regular meetings in the finals.
Can we start this in 2018?
3A and 4A are just downright brutal. New Cath is gonna win 20 1A titles in a row unless Pikeville or Paintsville can do anything about it.

How do you get that 3A is Brutal???

3A just LOST Boyle County, Louisville Central, Corbin and Lex Cath! Confusedhh:

There is no way they are going to be brutal compared to the last few years. None. :please:

What about their daddy Raceland?
Leaving West Carter in 3A District 8 makes no sense. Other than Lawrence Co...they have long drives to every other district foe. Whereas, East Carter is within a 20 minute drive of virtually every district team. So what was the rationale of splitting the two Carter co schools into different districts?

That’s a misprint. West is in 2A District 8. Morgan is in 2A District 7. In the Herald Leader release they show up in 3A. In the courier journal release they have the correct alignment.

The correct alignment is also referenced in the notes on the top of the herald leader page.

And they added CAL, Desales, Glasgow, Rockastle, Mercer Co, and Ashland. So 3A will still be just as brutal. The difference is in 4A. Which has gained a lot of strength with the changes.

Win ONE time and already calling Raceland “daddy” of Pikeville and Paintsville? Allllriiiighty then.
Looks like Berea is taking in the wrong side of class A. Nobody cares about Berea but that’s brutal with all that travel to go get there face beat in.
5A district 8 has no shot at getting to another title game with this alignment.

Scott County is a killer in the east.
PHSForever Wrote:Win ONE time and already calling Raceland “daddy” of Pikeville and Paintsville? Allllriiiighty then.
It was a joke because they left Raceland out of the mix. Just kidding. And win one time? We’ve won a couple big games over both schools.

Don't confuse NCC with Beechwood. The last 4 years Beechwood beat NCC 30-13, 31-14, 42-14, and 34-6. They are traditionally a good team, but Pikeville, Paintsville, Hazard, and Raceland can hang with them. They are not going to own class A like you think they are.

Or Male.

I wouldn't count out the Bulldogs anytime soon.

I meant get to State one time. But gotcha now. Yeah, Raceland is traditionally tough as well, much respect.

Of the teams you just listed CAL and DeSales are the only ones that have been state threats in the last 10 or so years.

Meanwhile Central and Boyle and Corbin have left the building.
The Assland Russell game is gonna be a lot of fun to watch!! This game means much more then bragging rights now!!
Feels like KHSAA finally did something correct.
IMO, 3A just got alot weaker. It will be very top heavy.

Top teams in 3A:

1. Belfry
2. Paducah Tilghman
3. Ashland
4. Russell
5. Bell Co.

I wasn’t aware the past 10 years was relevant to Today. Boyle hadn’t been a state threat for 6-7 years, but won it all last year.

CAL and Desales were both better than the team that put a running clock on your #1.

Is this a joke? Or just the usual EKY loyalty that's common from most people here. Are we forgetting CAL, DeSales and Etown? I would put all 3 of those ahead of everyone on that list except Belfry.

In 2015 without an injury to QB Josiah Robbins we would have been a threat.
