Severe spring storms blew through the Bluegrass Tuesday night, leaving behind a trail of damage.

The hardest hit areas were in Southern Kentucky where there were reports of possible tornadoes. Officials in Pulaski County reported roofs torn off buildings and quarter sized hail. In Taylor County, Emergency Management Officials said wind knocked down power lines in the Campbellsville area and damaged buildings. At one time, officials said they followed a funnel cloud in the northern part of the county.

Other reports of damage came in from Georgetown, where high winds caused heavy damage to a building under construction. Also strong winds ripped an awning off the McDonalds on Simpson Way in Madison County.

Hundreds of KU customers were without power for several hours in Lexington and Winchester.
