NEW YORK Junior guard Matt McQuaid hit a 3-pointer with 1:29 left to give Michigan State's men's basketball team a five-point lead and the Spartans held on for a 63-60 win over No. 9 seed Wisconsin in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

• It was the 13th win in a row for Michigan State, who improves to 29-3 overall, while Wisconsin is now 15-18.
Summary
• Michigan State led by four points, 32-28, at halftime and led by six points, 38-32 after a jumper from Miles Bridges, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Aleem Ford tied the game at 38-all.
• Ford's 3-pointers were part of a 10-0 run as Wisconsin took a 42-38 lead on a tip-in from Khalil Iverson with 14:21 to play in the game.
• The Spartans scored seven-straight points, a jumper from Joshua Langford followed by a 3-pointer and a jumper from Bridges to take a 45-42 lead, but Wisconsin tied the game at 51-all on a layup from Ethan Happ with 8:46 left.

• Freshman forward Jaren Jackson Jr. hit a layup to make it 60-58 and McQuaid hit a 3-pointer from the wing with 1:29 left to make it 63-58.
• Wisconsin pulled to within 63-60 and had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but the Spartans defense did not allow a clear attempt and Brad Davison's 3-pointer was off the mark.
• The first half was close throughout and Wisconsin led 28-24 after a 3-pointer from Brevin Pritzil, but the Spartans used an 8-0 run over the final 3:19 and took a 32-28 lead at the break on a 3-pointer from Cassius Winston.

• Miles Bridges scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Michigan State, while sophomore guard Cassius Winston added 17 points, five rebounds and five assists.
• Michigan State held a 41-27 advantage in rebounding and collected 16 offensive rebounds.
• The Spartans connected on 10-of-11 free throws (90.9 percent).
• MSU had key contributions from the bench, with Matt McQuaid scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds and freshman Xavier Tillman adding two points, three rebounds and three blocked shots.

• Michigan State advances to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals for the 14th time in program history ... It is the sixth semifinal appearance in the last seven years.
• Bridges is now two points away from 1,000 for his career and would be the 49th player in program history to reach 1,000 points for his career.
• Bridges would be the fifth player in MSU history to reach 1,000 points in two years.
• Bridges scored in double figures for the 27th time this season and scored at least 20 points for the 11th time this season.
• Cassius Winston scored in double figures for the 26th time this season.
