CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville starting five recorded double figures en route to a 74-61 victory over No. 9 Lindsey Wilson College on Senior Day at the Powell Athletic Center to wrap up the regular season.

With the victory over the Blue Raiders (21-8, 6-8 Mid-South Conference), the Tigers (21-9, 6-8 MSC) moved into a tie for fifth with Lindsey Wilson and after sweeping the regular-season series, Campbellsville earns No. 5 seed in the MSC Tournament next week. The full conference bracket will be announced later on Saturday evening.

Andrew Smith guided the Tigers with 18 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. Shawn Johnson recorded a doubled-double with 11 points and 10 boards. Hagen Tyler chipped in with 14 points, followed by 11 points from Jacob King and Jalen Coates notched 10 points for Campbellsville. Bryan Wallace led all scorers with 26 points and he was a rebound shy of double-double with nine to guide the Blue Raiders.

Coates made the first basket of the game 1:48 into the contest and the Tigers never looked back. Lindsey Wilson only tied the score twice late in the first half, but never led at any point in the game. After jumping out to an 11-4 lead, the Blue Raiders kept the game within reach and pulled within four points.

Campbellsville's largest lead in the first half came with 5:24 left before the break after a three-pointer from Johnson put the Tigers ahead, 28-16. However, the Blue Raiders countered with a 12-0 run to tie the game for the first time with just 1:46 left until the intermission.

Both teams traded baskets to close the half and Tyler gave Campbellsville a 32-30 lead at the half after hitting two free throws with less than one second to play.

At the half, both teams shot the ball fairly even with Lindsey Wilson making 12-of-32 shots and the Tigers were 13-of-34 from the floor. Both teams also shot the three at 33.3 percent. Campbellsville held a 22-13 edge on the glass in the first 20 minutes of action.

The Tigers carried the late momentum from the first half into the start of the second half and scored the first 11 points, before Hannes Erhardt put an end to the Campbellsville run with a pair of free throws. Lindsey Wilson's first field goal of the second half came 5:04 into the half on layup from Marquis Johns. Johns' layup cut into what was a 14-point advantage for the Tigers, which was their largest of the night.

Lindsey Wilson used its first made field goal to spark a quick spurt that made it 48-43 with 11:21 left to play. The five-point deficit was the closest the Blue Raiders came in the second half.

Down the stretch, Campbellsville scored five-straight points to run its lead back up to 13 points with under a minute to play. The Tigers converted all six of their free throws in the final 1:30 of regulation to secure the 74-61 victory.

With the win, Campbellsville leap frogs Lindsey Wilson for the fifth seed in the MSC Tournament next week. The Tigers are set to face No. 21 Life University who is the fourth seed after losing the tiebreaker to No. 24 University of the Cumberlands. Opening round matchups are set to be announced later on Saturday evening.

Campbellsville shot a scorching 60.9 percent in the second half and finished the game shooting 47.7 percent from the game. Lindsey Wilson posted a field goal percentage of 36.5 percent overall. The Tigers controlled the glass with 38 rebounds compared to just 27 from the Blue Raiders.

Prior to the game, the Campbellsville men's basketball program honored its five seniors: Duke Robinson, Jalen Coates, Adam Stanford, Taylor Howard and Shawn Johnson on Senior Day.

The Tigers now head into the Mid-South Conference Tournament next weekend. Campbellsville will have the noon ET game on Friday, March 2 from the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville, Ky., against Cumberlands.
