MARIETTA, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell to Life (Ga.) 70-67 Saturday afternoon during a road Mid-South Conference game at the Eagles' Nest.

Two Blue Raiders (21-6, 6-6 MSC) were in double figures as Bryan Wallace led the way scoring a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Charles Sutton added 18 points and four rebounds as Pepper Ben Ofokile added a team-high six rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson shot 42.8 percent from the field as Life (19-9, 7-5 MSC) shot 45.9 percent from the field after recording 40 points in the paint.

The Running Eagles jumped out to an early 8-3 lead over the first four minutes of the game and were able to extend their lead to 19-10 with just over twelve minute left in the half.

Hot shooting from beyond the arc for the Blue Raiders gave LWC their first lead of the contest with just over seven minutes left in the half at 25-24. Lindsey Wilson went 4-for-4 from deep over the five minute span as Marquis Johns and Sutton hit one three apiece and Wallace knocked down two three pointers and converted on three shots from the charity stripe.

From there the teams traded baskets as the Blue Raiders stayed hot from beyond the arc hitting three more threes before the half to increase their lead to 34-32.

LWC shot 44.0 percent from the floor including 9-of-15 from beyond the arc. Sutton and Wallace both ended the half with a team-high 14 points. The Running Eagles shot 38.2 percent from the floor and connected on just 3-of-11 three point shot attempts but scored 18 of their points in the paint to Blue Raiders four.

Five minutes into the second half Lindsey Wilson found themselves trailing by two at 42-40. Life managed to then go on a 10-4 run to increase their lead to 52-44 with 11:45 left in the half.

The Blue Raiders were able to cut the Running Eagles lead to just one over the next two minutes at 52-51 but Life responded with another run to increase their lead to nine with 7:17 left to play.

Trailing 60-51, six points by Wallace, four by Kel Stotts from the charity stripe and two by Ofokile cut Life's lead to just four at 67-63 with 2:47 left to play.

A Stotts steal with just less than two minutes left in the game led to an easy bucket for Sutton. An empty possession for Life led to Wallace knocking down a shot to tie the game at 67-67 with 47 seconds left.

The Running Eagle connected on their next possession to take a two-point lead with 34 seconds left. A Sutton turnover forced the Blue Raiders to foul with seven seconds left as Life connected on the first of two attempts. Wallace looked to connect on a last second three as time expired but failed to convert.

Jay Johnson scored a team-high 22 points and eight rebounds for the Running Eagles as Undra Mitchem has 16 and Zach Landis added 13 points.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Thursday when they take on No. 11 Georgetown (Ky.) at 8 p.m. CT in their regular season home finale at Biggers Sports Center.
