An Owingsville woman and her 3-year-old granddaughter were seriously injured yesterday after apparently jumping 27 feet from an overpass onto Interstate 64 in Bath County.
Theresa Jordan, 50, was holding her granddaughter, McKayla Carpenter, when the woman apparently jumped about 10 a.m., Kentucky State Police said.
Jordan and the girl fell from the Ky. 211 overpass onto large drainage rock along the shoulder of I-64, police said.
The woman and the child were flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where both underwent surgery last night, said Trooper Ralph Lockard, public affairs officer for the state police post in Morehead.

That's crazy... why would somebody be dumb enough to do something like that... and to take their grandchild... what are people thinking

Drugs man, it's gotta be drugs. Either that or mental illness.

It is dumb enough to try to kill yourself but attempting to take an innocent life with you. She has problems. They need to try this as attempted murder.

Gotta be more to the story than this. Nobody would be stupid enough to do that. Where's the girl's mom? Doesn't mention parents, the story's too shady for that to be all there is to it........... Had to be foul play
