The Nebraska State Patrol gave the community a tip Saturday afternoon.

"Today's hint: if you are carrying over 120 pounds of marijuana, pack it so that it doesn't fall out while driving down the interstate," The Nebraska State Patrol Troop C tweeted. "Luckily someone called us so we could reunite them with their lost packages."

The incident happened at 3 p.m. Friday near Odessa. Someone called the NSP to report that a package had fallen from a flatbed trailer being pulled by a Dodge Ram.

A trooper found the vehicle while another trooper recovered the package. Upon finding the package, the trooper determined that it was filled with marijuana.

Troopers then conducted a searched and found a hidden compartment on the undercarriage of the trailer.

Dozens more packages were found inside the compartment. In total, troopers seized 122 pounds of high-grade marijuana from the vehicle. The estimated street value is $366,000.

The driver of the pick-up, Charlie Red, 48, of Colorado, and passenger Damaisy Rodriguez, 29, of Florida, were both arrested for possession of more than one pound of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver.

Both were taken to the Buffalo County Jail.

The description doesn't do this story justice. Go to the link and check out the pics. What morons.
I always wondered if I could see myself being a drug mule if enough no at was involved.

Here's a hypothetical.

Guy you know well wants you to haul 250 pounds of marijuana from Kentucky to Miami. He will pay 50K for you to run it. All you have to do is make it from KY to Miami and the same guy will meet you there to pick it up.

I'd say it's be hard to turn that down. It's a straight shot down i75 until you hit the toll roads down there and so long as you obey all the traffic laws you shouldn't get pulled over. I've personally drove from Corbin to Miami in one day so it can be done.

Would you do it?

My honest answer would be, possibly.

Like you said, it's a straight shot down and back. I mean, 50K is good money for 2 days worth of driving. If it was a time of moderate traffic (not where you are the only car on the road, and not a holiday time) there really wouldn't be that big of a risk involved.

I've honestly sat here for a few minutes and thought about it. If it was someone I trusted (as much as you can trust someone in that line of work) then I probably would.

Maybe.
They're gonna go to prison over something that is legal in several US states. Wish we could stop wasting money prosecuting people who want to smoke a plant. There are more serious drug-related crime we could be tackling as a nation.
