MOREHEAD, Ky.— Junior forward Lamontray Harris recorded his third consecutive double-double, but Morehead State (5-13,1-6) men's basketbal fell 58-57 in heartbreaking fashion to reigning Ohio Valley Conference Tournament champion Jacksonville State (14-6,5-2) on Thursday night at Johnson Arena.

"I hate it for our fans and for our kids," said head coach Preston Spradlin. "I'm so proud of these guys, they keep fighting. They keep coming in and they're hungry, doing all the things we ask them to do."

Jacksonville State hit the game-winning free throws with 3.5 seconds left before MSU's last ditch shot by Jordan Walker fell off the rim.

Harris, a 6-foot-7 Louisville, Ky. native, recorded 14 points and nabbed 11 rebounds in the effort.

Despite only making 8-of-26 (.300) shots from the field in the first half, Morehead State trailed 26-25 at halftime.

The Eagles' first half was paced by A.J. Hicks, who scored 13. Hicks ultimately finished with a team-high 17 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Morehead State began the second half sluggishly, allowing the Gamecocks to go on an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 34-25.

Harris then took over and rattled off seven points during a 10-0 run by the Eagles, giving them a 35-34 lead with 14:19 remaining. Morehead State capitalized on the momentum and extended the run to 23-5, giving it a 48-39 advantage with 8:24 to go.

The lead slipped away down the stretch, though, as the Eagles could not find offense. MSU finished the last 3:11 of the game without a field goal.

Morehead State will continue its home stand this Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET against Tennessee Tech. The Eagles will try to avenge a 69-67 setback from Dec. 28, wherein Tech sealed the victory with a layup at the buzzer.
