NOTRE DAME, IND. – The NC State men's basketball team fell to Notre Dame, 88-58, Wednesday evening at the Purcell Pavilion.

With the loss, NC State drops to 10-5, 0-2 in the ACC, while Notre Dame improves to 12-3, 2-0 in the ACC.

NC State shot just 36.7 percent from the field and is now 0-4 on the season when it shoots under 40 percent from the field.

The Fighting Irish shot 61.3 percent from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to take a 48-36 lead into the break. The Pack could never cut into the halftime deficit in the second half as NC State missed its first 11 shots from the field.

Allerik Freeman led the Pack in scoring for the seventh time this season, finishing with 13 points. Lennard Freeman also reached double figures for the Pack, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Torin Dorn added nine points and a team-high five rebounds, while Braxton Beverly delivered eight points and a team-high five assists.

TJ Gibbs led Notre Dame with 22 points as the Fighting Irish closed the game with 11 three-pointers.

The Pack returns to action Saturday evening when it hosts second-ranked Duke inside PNC Arena for its ACC home-opener. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.

Expected a better game in this one.
I believe Mike Brey became the all time leader in wins at Notre Dame with this win. I have always thought he is a fantastic coach and gets the most out of his players every year.
