PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Third-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.) ran for 442 yards to spoil the chance of a homecoming victory at the University of Pikeville with a 44-21 win on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon.

Pikeville (4-5, 2-3 MSC Appalachian) lost the game despite recovering five of the Eagles' 10 turnovers.

Reinhardt (7-0, 5-0 MSC Appalachian), which reached the national semifinals last season, led 22-0 by the end of the first quarter. Sophomore Montralius Mosley had touchdown runs of 34 and 59 yards sandwiched around a one-yard carry by freshman Trevae Cain.

UPIKE found pay dirt for the first time when sophomore Xondre Willis cut up the middle for a four-yard run to end a four-play, 40-yard drive. The extra-point by sophomore William Chandler cut the deficit to 22-7 with 6:29 left in the half.

But by the game's midpoint, Reinhardt had added scoring runs of five and two yards, the first by senior Reggie Mack and the latter by freshman Quannie Green, to take a 37-7 lead into the break.

Freshman quarterback Billy Hall ran 75 yards for the Eagles' next score, which came with 1:59 left in the third period, to make it 44-7.

The Bears scored the final two touchdowns of the game in the fourth quarter. Senior Sani Warren found freshman Arites Clark in the corner of the end zone for a one-yard strike with 12:40 remaining before a 14-yard run by sophomore Willie McCloud with 5:37 left set the final score.

Pikeville lost despite two huge individual efforts. Junior Taeron Brown led the Bears on defense with 18 total tackles, eight of them being solos. He also forced a fumble and was part of a tackle for loss. His total tackles were one shy of the school record and surpassed his own single-game best, a 16-tackle effort against Carson-Newman on Aug. 31.

On the offensive side, junior tight end Braxton Whitmore hauled in six catches for 122 yards. It was his most catches and receiving yards in a game this season.

Mosley led 16 different ball carriers for Reinhart with 100 yards on the ground on only three carries. Hall followed with 62 yards on 12 tries. Starting quarterback Dylan Wiggins was 3-of-3 for 60 yards in the air, the only completed passes on the day for the Eagles.

McCloud had 84 yards on 19 hauls to lead the Bears, which finished with 102 yards on the ground. Two Bear quarterbacks combined for a 10-of-31 day, throwing for 180 yards.
