Trinity, Scott County, and Belfry all take a slide this week.
I disagree with a few of those. Boyle at #7?
I can't put Cov Cath above Trinity. Trinity has beaten some of the top teams in the U.S. Danville at 18 and Boyle at 7? This is why computer rankings are never very accurate. The AP polls are much closer than what is shown here. IMO

And although Etown to me is really good, and scary in terms of a matchup for my own team. I don't think they should be ranked where they are. This is the first poll I've seen them this high.
Cantrall ratings are a joke. Any computer or ranking system that doesn’t have trinity #1 is already lost cred. I know, I know, someone will say it’s virtually a tie. Well guess what, almost, virtually, doesn’t count. And no offense to Boyle, but they’re not #1. #3 yea maybe. I’d rather look at a local newspapers bias poll then that garbage
Something skewed this numbers this week.
They haven't been this off all week.
He needs to check his stuff.

The ap poll is hot garbage. The worst poll out there. This is heading in that direction.
The worst poll I've seen this year is the Litkenhous rating the Courier Journal prints. It's so bad I won't even waste my time looking at them anymore.

We take a slide because Coach Haywood has class and don’t run up the score

Agree 100%. I think the fact we are all arguing/discussing whether Boyle can even play with, Belfry, Corbin, or even Central definitely shows they are in no way the #1. Most of us are thinking they are just now on the verge of being competitive a little bit with those teams.
Thia poll is a lot closer to reality and being accurate than you folks realize IMO. I have paid attention to this poll for many years and unfortunately I have to say that it has always been more accurate than a lot of people want to believe. It is surely better than the AP poll that has sports writers voting on teams they have never even seen play. The AP poll is never as close to accurate as Cantrell, tough thing is this poll exposes many teams for what they really are and lots of folks just refuse to face the painful truth. Sure there will be a team or two here and there that might not be rated as high as they should or could be and sure there are some teams that are ranked lower than a team they have beaten and almost all power polls have that, but in large part this poll is a lot closer to reality than most want to admit or believe.
Any ranking that doesn't have Trinity #1 is patently defective.
I understand the algorithm calculated Covington Catholic at number 1.....but wasn't/isn't Trinity nationally ranked?

Not that accurate. Your #11 team just got beat by the #24 team on a neutral field and hasn’t been beat since. Like I said earlier anything that doesn’t have trinity far and above everyone has lost all credibility. I’m sure Boyle co fans will take it personal, but who have they played or beat to justify putting them above corbin belfry central?

I'm not saying they aren't good, but I'm assuming Boyle is hanging their hat on their win over a very mediocre Lex Cath team. They played Danville tough, but Danville is struggling.
I tell my son all the time rankings mean nothing. Makes me happy that everybody thinks Boyle is way behind the first couple of spots helps motivate young men. And as far as I am concerned Belfry is number 1 until they get knocked off and everybody else doesn't matter until one of you do knock them off.

I don't think there are many of us it any at all that think Boyle County is way behind anybody. Some of us don't see the justification of Boyle County's ranking ahead of Belfry or even Corbin for the reason you just stated. Boyle could very well win it all. It's just fun to debate these things until then.
This poll is a joke. You must beat your opponent by 100 to stay ramked

They have blowout wins over Collins and Wayne County, the second and third best 4A teams respectively.

They also have a narrow loss to a Danville team the CPU's are loving.

I'll be the first to admit that Boyle has more quality wins right now than either Belfry or Corbin.
Trinity is not "far and above" Covington Catholic. I agree that they would be the favorite....but make no mistake about it, it would be a great game. Cov cath could easily pull off the upset. If you've seen them play, you'd know what I mean.
EKU: in regards to Corbin/Belfrys quality wins vs Boyle: I'd take Alcoa Tn and Mayfield over Collins and Wayne Co...

Alcoa lost 1 more game this year, and that was to Maryville. If you know anything about Tn prep ball, then that needs to explanation.

Corbin and Belfry has had wins over better teams than Wayne and Collins, and Belfrys loss to Huntington should count as a win for even playing they are as good as advertised. As for central I haven’t followed, but two more weeks then playoffs start. So in 7 weeks these polls could get debated but as till then everyone should use them as a motivating tool, because they aren’t worth the time to even read. Yes Danville beat a Knox county team pretty bad, Knox had 5 or six turnovers the beat Boyle in a close game. In common opponent situation Corbin will play Knox next Friday I guess we could use this as a measuring tape game to see how we would do against a Danville then should we move up to 7th if we win by more than danville beat Boyle and Knox.
Danville 52-28 Knox
Danville 10-7 Boyle

It’s hard to do that comparison.

Example A: Danville beat Wagoneer by 3. Boyle beat them by 35.
