Before we go any further, its better to explain what exactly is going on to help those who don't know.
In the KHSAA's ass backwards way of doing things, they cross bracketed 5A, just for this season. In other words, Regions 2 and 3 will be mixed up and switch one of their two districts a piece.
In trying to "make everyone happy" the KHSAA essentially screwed the best two 5A teams in the state in Cov Cath and Bowling Green. This was also done before they let Highlands and Cov Cath pick and choose where they wanted to play again I believe.
So in breaking it down, Region 1 and Region 4 will be the same as usual.
Region 2 and Region 3 will flip districts 4 and 5.
This is the breakdown...
EAST
Region 1
District 1 – Apollo, Christian County, Graves County, Marshall County, Owensboro
District 2 – Barren County, Bowling Green, Grayson County, Greenwood
Region 2
District 3 – Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, Nelson County, North Bullitt, Oldham County, South Oldham
District 5 – Covington Catholic, Dixie Heights, Grant County, Highlands
WEST
Region 3
District 4 – Atherton, Doss, Fairdale, Fern Creek, Iroquois, Southern
District 6 – Anderson County, Madison Southern, Montgomery County, Woodford County
Region 4
District 7 – Lincoln County, Pulaski County, South Laurel, Southwestern
District 8 – Harlan County, Letcher County Central, North Laurel, Perry County Central, Whitley County
They ended up stacking the west in this deal and the east with few good teams.
The best part? It all goes back to usual next year and they would have to vote on it again in order for it to switch again.
Its dumb. Its stupid. Its the KHSAA.

SW will challenge Fern Creek. Bowling Green and Cov Cath seem to be on course for a battle of Titans

SW needs to prove they can knock off Pulaski in the playoffs before ill be a believer.
Pulaski has owned them.
Pulaski has owned them.
