A man was taken to University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital Sunday afternoon after he fell more than 80 feet while climbing at the Graining Fork Nature Preserve in Wolfe County.

The fall happened about 3 p.m., Wolfe County Search and Rescue posted on its Facebook page. The rescue was conducted by the Wolfe County team along with Powell County Search and Rescue.

The climber, from Cleveland, was not immediately identified.

This is not the first instance of someone being rescued after an extraordinary fall. A 23-year-old man fell from a cliff in Menifee County on Aug. 19 and was rescued the next day. A woman in Whitley County also fell from an observation point at Cumberland Falls Aug. 20 and was later flown to a hospital.I
