One question who is McKenzie Flynn? I've followed girls basketball all season and I'm not familiar with her. I've checked the stats and not found her name. What about players like Kash, Proffitt, Gibson, or Higgins.
^ According to what I found she is a 5'11 PF from Estill and averaged 10.7 points and 10.8 rebounds a game.
The player of the year must be a senior because the players of the year are the finalists for Ms. Basketball. I still question the selection. Griffith at Leslie and Waugh at Knott had better seasons on better teams. That is no knock on Flynn, but I don't think she is the best senior on her team let alone the region.
Those are good but are they POY numbers? I don't think so. I'm confused. I'm sure this girl is a good player but what criteria did the use to pick her.

Oh yeah, I agree... I was just sharing what I had found on her.
This is always debatable.....Should the coach that has a lot of talent and wins get COY or should the coach that has less talent but does a good coaching job deserve COY? I believe that it is more about how hard the teams play and well the coach makes adjustment during games.
That criteria is mostly opinion and everybody has an opinion. The stats of each player and each team would be the best way to determine POY and COY.
