Think about it.... as long as the person is actually alive, do their wrestling characters ever actually die?

Goldberg is a perfect example. Most of the kids watching wrestling today wasn't even born when Goldberg was on his Streak in WCW. But he gets major Pops and is more Over than any talent on the roster now.

He hasn't wrestled in 12-13 years, but his Character was able to sustain.
Jim Cornette once said that anyone will get a pop if they jump out of a box.

Goldberg didn't exactly jump out of a box, but he was teased ahead of time and did all these interviews talking about wanting to wrestle Lesnar. Everything Goldberg has ever done is just a Google search away for kids today. His stuff is all over WWE Network too.

That being said - a good character can last forever - but if you don't execute it correctly it will fall flat.

Look up the time Michael Cole brought back Grand Master Sexay to get at Jerry Lawler on Raw - it's the most cringe-worthy thing I've ever seen in wrestling. And no, I'm not comparing GMS to Goldberg lol
