So it's once again CAL vs DeSales week. This I believe to be the biggest game of the year in 2A due to the winner securing home field throughout the playoffs. I once again think turnovers will be a key. It seems like it always is. Their strength is their passing game. Our strength is our secondary. I think we do have an advantage with depth, we have 4 kids that can run the football, including our QB. I really think the key to the game is if we can establish a pass rush, make Carr throw the football sooner than he wants too, then that plays into our hands. If we can't establish a rush, and he has all day back there, I don't care how good your secondary is, he'll pick you apart.
Also we know we are going to pound the ball. It's the DeSales way. Last year in the regular season match up, we had success doing that, then for some reason we got away from it, then got behind on some turnovers, and panicked. I have never really put too much stock in the regular season game, knowing that we would see them again in a few weeks in the playoffs. However this year being we have a true home field, we need this game. Both of us if it's them or DeSales needs every advantage that we can get to trip up Mayfield this year. Even then it might not be enough.
