Sorry I have waited so long this week. I have been tied up and it also was hard to get several real good games. So without further ado, here we go:
1) Gallatin County 2a @ Ludlow 1a
This one appears to be a great game between 2 teams that appear to be on the rise. They both come into this one with 2-1 records. They also both ended their seasons last year with almost identical records. Gallatin finished 5-6 last year, one game under 500. This because of this very meeting last year in which Ludlow won 28-29. Ludlow finished 1 game over 500 as a result at 6-5. This should be a great game between what appears to be 2 very evenly matched teams.
2) Pineville 1a @ Paris 1a
Here again we have 2 teams on the rise. We have Pineville coming in at 2-1. We also have Paris coming in at 3-0. Both teams also were in the mix of things last year. Pineville finished up at 5-6 while Paris finished up at 5-3. This will be a good game to shape the top end of 1a.
3) New Miami, Oh @ Dayton 1a
Here we have two teams in need of wins. We have an out of state matchup also. New Miami comes in at 0-2 and Dayton at 1-2. New Miami won this match up last year 22-14 and finished the year at 6-5. Dayton put up a great fight in this one last year in Oh and came in with a disappointing 3-8 season as a result. Both of these teams need this one to build from.
4) Somerset 2a @ Hazard 1a
Here we have a game between 2 great storied traditions. Last year Somerset had one of their worst seasons ever, as they finished up at 0-10, but that is definitely not the norm. They lost in this matchup last year 19-53 at home and will be looking to redeem themselves. Hazard finished up last year at 10-3. Both teams enter this matchup with 2-1 records on the season. These programs follow their teams and therefore this will be a great atmosphere and a great game.
5) Caldwell County 3a @ Crittendon County 1a
Here we have two teams that appear to be on a role this year. The season started with everyone doubting Caldwell's chances to succeed with all they lost to graduation. While, everyone expected the Rockets to be better this year. Well, Caldwell and Crittendon have both exceeded what was expected thus far. Caldwell comes in at 2-1, with a tough loss to a 5a team. Crittendon comes in with an impressive 3-0 record. Last year Caldwell crushed the Rockets by a score of 63-6 and the Rockets will be looking to show just how improved they are. Caldwell finished 2014 at 11-2, mostly due to 2 terrible injuries in their last game of the year. Crittendon however, finished up last year with a disappointing 4-7 record, but were very young. This could be a good statement game for both teams.
6) Greenup County 4a @ Raceland 1a
Here we have a game between a tough 1a team playing a middle to lower pack team from 4a. They both however come in at 2-1. Raceland won this one last year 25-0 enroute to a 11-3 season. Greenup however finished up at 4-7. This also should be a good one to watch.
7) Chaffee, Mo @ Fulton County 1a
Here again, we have a game between 2 teams in need of wins. Chaffee comes in at 1-2 on the year and Fulton County at 0-3. They also both finished last year pretty much the same way as Chaffee went 0-9 and Fulton County 1-9. Both teams need this game to build from. This too will be a good one to watch.
8) Carroll County 2a @ Ky Country Day 1a
Here we have a game between 2 teams that are very familiar with each other. This has become a regular thing with them. Both teams enter this matchup at 1-2 on the year. Carroll however finished 2014 with a disappointing 3-8 record. KCD finished up 1 game over 500 as a result of this matchup last year at 6-5. It was in blowout fashion as KCD won 42-7. Carroll County I'm sure will be looking for payback.
9) Sheldon Clark 3a @ Pikeville 1a
Here we have a game between a 3a team that is looking to get a win and a 1a team that is looking to getting back into the winning streak. Sheldon Clark is the bigger school and comes in with a record of 1-2. Pikeville enters fresh off their first loss of the season at 2-1. The two finished at opposite ends of the spectrum last year as Sheldon Clark finished at 1-10 and Pikeville at 11-1. Pikeville won this one going away last year 63-20. It will be interesting to see if Pikeville allows this one to be a close game.
10) Gibson County, Tn @ Fulton City 1a
Here again, we have a game between 2 teams that are desperate for wins and it is an out of state matchup. They both come into this one at 1-2. They finished last year with almost identical records as well. Gibson County finished up at 2-8. Fulton County finished up at 1-9. This also should be a good one to watch.
