the daily independent has always had a heavy involvement in area sports. mark maynard has taken it to new levels. they will interview many teams during the season. great to here from coaches and players first hand. they do a good job of somewhat unbiased coverage of local teams. after all they are a ashland based paper, but they have a big circulation area as a daily paper in this neck of the woods. no other town offers a daily paper in north eastern ky. i hope they continue to for years to come. i have subscribed both in business and personal for many years. for 15 bucks a month, you get good coverage of ne ky.
