Valley moves to 10-2 on the year now. In 25 years since the school opened, this is the only time they have ever won 10 games in a season.
Also, this is the first time Shelby Valley will play in the third round of playoffs in the history of the school.
Breaking lots of new ground with this team...

SV played hard and looked very good on defense. This is a great group of young men that get along great! Very hard to stop both backs and the 3rd back is always a threat.
By the way SV is one of only two Pike County teams still playing!

I honestly don't think he would have made any difference. LCA's problem tonight wasn't offense, it was their defense. I believe SV only punted once all night, and were stopped on downs twice.
Valley actually should have had 2 more touchdowns in the second half, but a couple of untimely fumbles deep in LCA territory kept the score where it was.

Great game tonight . Valleys offense struggled in th second half . But there defense stepped up big . Valley truly should have won this game by 3 or 4 touchdowns . Had a fumble on the 3 yard line ready to score . And had 1 or 2 more fumbles on the night . But there defense were pretty lights out in the 4th qt. LCA scored late in the 4th when the second string was in . LCA was a pretty good football team . May have had the best offense line Valley had seen all year . Bring on the BLACKCATS next week should be another good one . The first one was a dandy .

Shelby Valley was too much tonight for the Lexingtonians. If they can exact some revenge on P-Burg next Friday, the following week we will get to introduce some northerners from Newport to our beautiful mountains!

Wildcats are a pretty good bunch.
I am very proud of this group of boys. Coach Ratliff has done a great job with them. They get along on and off the field. Look for the SV program to continue to build.
So the Whitman kid from LCA didn't play at all?

He did not play but whoever said the backup was awful was way off. He is a freshman and is going to be a stud. He ran hard with his pads low and was a load to bring down. They will not miss a beat next year with him in the backfield.
Congrats Valley! Coach Hampton deserves a lot of credit. The offense is the same as last year. My little girl could pick a play out of a playbook of 10 plays. When is the last time Valley was playing football past Pikeville!
