What gives other than an exchange of $$$ into a person/persons pockets?

Learned week 1 the KHSAA was mandating the use of Rawlings footballs at all playoff games. So if your team was using some other......surprise!

Notice was provided 30 mins before kickoff...Confusednicker:

Thoughts?

Going to make for a slick ball with the cold temps on Friday. #2 Sandpaper anyone???
Thought this had been a rule for a while?
It has been a rule for years. If his team was provided notice 30 minutes before kickoff then they are several years behind.

Or very pre-occupied...

Thanks for the feedback!
Teams should use what they want. Why do they have to use Rawlings anyways?
Bc if I'm correct Rawlings sponsors a few things Khsaa puts on.

 I am sure glad Tampax isn't a KHSAA sponsor for football.......
Untill this year, during playoffs you could use any till the finals and they shipped you 4 to. Break in. This year mandated to play all rounds with them.
Those football are complete garbage too. Unless you lather them in water, there's no grip what so ever.
Every KHSAA sport is this way. Basketball has to use Rawlings in postseason as well as baseball. No big news here.
Teams should play with the Rawlings to be familiar before playoffs begin.
The same reason that one color is changed in volleyball and soccer ball changes are made and slight changes made to every other ball on a regular basis. So the schools have to buy new balls every year and a kick back can be given to the person agreeing to these changes.
Ex. if there were 240 schools with boys/girls basketball that would be 480 total teams. If every team bought 10 balls(some by more some less) that's 4800 basketballs at an average of $60 per ball. That is $288,000 worth of balls every year and that is just one sport. More is probably spent on baseballs at $60 per dozen.
What were those footballs that teams used for a season 5 or 6 years ago? They were almost yellow in color. What was so special about them?

Every team had to buy them new to replace the same ball that was a different color imo.
It's all because Rawlings has that Patented Engineering Procedure which creates that unique oval shape........
You have heard of Forward Pass, Ball control, Kick OFF, NOW you have heard of KICK BACK.
KHSAA admin needs to spend more time with younger officials and less time worrying about whether or not teams are using a rawlings football.
