One more week for the poor ole campers this year. Maybe they will hire the right coach this time and get the program turned around.

Need to beg Old Dave to come back. Only guy who has ever had success there.

Their best option for getting a good coach is to take a chance on a young guy looking for a first time head coaching job. Lynn Camp isn't going to attract the better coaches around the state. Maybe a young guy just out of college or somebody that's been an assistant for a couple years under a good coach that may be looking to make his mark will be good options. A lot of programs like these get in a rut where they continue to hire coaches based off who their family is or what friends he may have, and you end up with a revolving door of coaches that never change anything. A young guy will most likely not be there for 10 years or even 5 years, but what it may do is allow for the program to get back on track to where a good experienced coach will want to come there, and then you can worry about longevity. If they go into it looking for someone that is just going to stay for awhile then chances are it'll be some hack with ties to the community and the program will eventually become a laughing stock. Top priority should be finding someone that will turn it around quickly. Once your program is back on track then you can worry about longevity.

Dave could stir some interest and he could get the kids out. He would stay until they lowered him into the cold cold ground.

Why did he leave in the first place??

Forced out by the Laurel County mafia. Hulett, superintendant, and Pennington, principle, were Laurel county guys who were ex basketball coaches.Those who were involved with the program would have went to war for Coach Mitchell.
