Good football game. Barger for Knox injuried his sternum and had to leave the game in 3rd.

How do you wear a home jersey on the road??? I thought there was a rule against it? Seems confusing for the teams both wearing dark jerseys.
Congratulations to Bell County on their victory tonight.

Sounds like this game got way out of hand...from the start of the game with the like colored jerseys all the way to the end. As a result a great athlete was injured and we're waiting up at midnight tonight to see how badly he was injured.

I have no idea how to do this, but some how, some way there MUST be a degree of accountability when our kids are playing a game as physical as football.

My thoughts and prayers to Barger and his family tonight.
He landed on the football on his sideline after a catch according to his coach when he first hurt it. A few plays later he was trying to block and then went down. I hope it was nothing too serious.
I was at hospital with Matt earlier. He will be fine with time. I stand by what I said earlier. MATT was hit after the play in the cheapest way. Refs let it go. Rediculous and game altering. Bell is a low class program who deserves the mediocrity they will enjoy going forward.
I'm sure after this season Bell Co will be going after Dudley again. Bell is nothing without that man.

I don't think so. He was actually going in for a echo of the whistle hit himself but the player saw it coming and they hit each other. Anyone in the area knows the kid and knows some of his extra curricular stuff he does during the game in fb and bb. They also know he is a heck of an athlete and I hope he will be fine. The local tv guys went back and watched the play during the delay. Big eye don't lie.

Again I hope he will be fine. Knox will win their first district championship this year if they don't shoot themselves in the foot.

Football1 glad to see u back. I thought you had quit us.

You are so full of shit to say he lanes on the ball is when he first hurt it. Try when that play happened on the sidelines he hurt his elbow. If you remembered the red made him leave the games cause he was bleeding. Had a bruised elbow and a cut on. Came back second half with it padded up.
He hurt his chest a few plays before when he landed on the football. Ask your coaches they are the ones that said that. It knocked the air completely out of him according to them and must have been a little worse than that. Again I hope he is ok.
Good game between two very good teams.
The home team wears dark jersey and away is white. Does Knox not have white jersey.

NFHS rules implemented this several years ago just because of this.

I guess it depends on what you call low class. I've never seen a fan from Bell County walk across the field and flip off the other sides fans like the Knox man and woman did. And I guess there wasn't a single cheap shot from any Knox players, like the choke hold put on our running back toward the end of the game or last year when the late hit on the sideline put our QB out of the game. Hmm.

remember the coach that punched a ref at corbin? was he a bell fan? listen, the man that supposedly flipped off fans is not representative of our fan base as was your coach that hit the ref.ive seen fans cuss kids throw things and encourage cheap shots.my take from this game is knox needs to tweek the offense a bit and the defense needs more discipline[15-16 flags? bell 3-4 total 5-10 yards?] maybe a little home cooking but still too many.knox had there chances,i believe they will get better.bell will be alright at home[flag mountain] but good teams on the road[see mboro game] they will struggle.good luck to both squads and stay classy.

There you go again taking about stuff you have no clue about. Yes Knox does have white jerseys. They have 3 sets of them as a matter fact. Blue one for home and grey and white ones for road games. They chose to wear the greys this week.

That wasn't a coach it was a fan years ago at Corbin. 1 of the people that was kicked out of the game was a Coach from Knox last night. He was a young guy not sure who he was but he seemed to have a problem with his middle finger because he kept it stuck up at the Bell players for at least 10 minutes from the middle of the field. He was also cussing our players. Real classy. The older man that was ejected is an idiot. I have saw him act that way at numerous sporting events.

Should have been a penalty. Grey is not a road color. Someone needs to read the rules.
We had a fan one year that acted so horribly toward a Bell Co player during the game, that I reported him to the police that was there. He was escorted out! It was embarassing and unfortunately, all teams have these kinds of fans. (Look at Gut!!) Smile

I am a little concerned over the officiating. I know....all losing teams blame the ref. But I distinctly remember last year at Bell County during our game some of most ridiculous calls in the world!! Now officials can never see everything, and let's face it, some of them should never be calling a game. But when these officiating malfunctions result in a kid being injured or God forbid something worse, is there NO accountability? I think this may be a problem that needs to be addressed by the folks with the power to do just that.
JMO!!!

Flag Mountain!! Classic

Don't have a clue do you. Still trying to make excuses for the sleazy cheap shot that was taken? Shouldn't expect anything less on cheat mountain. As far as our coaches saying he hurt it a few plays earlier your nuts. They never said no such thing.

I agree. You all have some great fans and I know many of them personally. I just didn't think the "low class program" comment was warranted. Every team has a few that make us look bad but I don't think either program is "low class". Good luck on the rest of the season, I'll be rooting for y'all.

Guess you should check again cause no one from Knox got ejected. The older man just happen to be Barger's father and if you would have been watching you would have seen he got in the ambulance and left with his son. He was upset with the way the refs just made a no call of the cheap shot and I don't blame him either.
As for the one that was flipping people off he was not a KC coach and he wasn't flipping of the fans at all. It was all directed at Wayne Mills. Plus he never got ejected either. They might have ejected him but they never could find him. The cops where within 10 feet of him and didn't even recognize him. So he was enjected either. So get your facts straight before you start running off at the mouth.
Any update on Barger's injury?
Dude you have no clue. He was asked to leave or be taken out by the deputy. He walked across the field and out the gate to the parking lot. I was standing at the gate where he came out. Quit making stuff up. Stick to stuff you know. Go talk to your coaches, i did after the game near the gate.

Couldn't find the other because he was hiding like a coward.

I am done with this, it is dragging me down to an idiots level and you clearly have more practice.

Again I hope the kid is fine and think he will be.

I will seriously be surprised if he has anything but bruised ribs or sternum.
Is there word on Barger's status?
Here is something from facebook.

"Head Coach Russell for Knox Central said injured player Matthew Barger will be OK but had very bad bruised ribs. We wish him a speedy recovery and our prayers are with him!"

Just talked with him a few min. Ago he said he is very sore. They aren't sure yet of its bruised or cracked ribs yet. Will check him again on Monday.
He said he never fell on the ball and hurt himself at all. He also went on to say he never seen the hot coming. All he knew was the whistle had blown and he was ajusting his gloves when he got hit.

So as far as topcats commits that complete crap about falling on the ball.

Wow 2 away sets is a compliment that a team can afford to do that, it's great for the kids
Tell me why you think I said something bad, cause I asked if it was a dark gray, well a dark gray could confuse some on the field
As a matter of fact I'm color blind and blue and gray to me looks like purple to me
Different shades are harder to see

my intention isnt to debate, you said you never saw bell fans act a certain way and i gave 1 example of something i remembered,so with that i stop commenting on fans vs fans.on the other issue we knew the task at hand would be great.with bell coming off a loss to a bitter rival and playing at home[flag mountain].with that said we were undisciplined and our youthfullness was exposed.we still had many oppourtunities to score and i felt we were very conservative in play calls despite the load of laundry that was scattered on the field.sometimes teams have to play through bad/missed calls to win.
I did not see the play. But I did talk to Matt. Bottom line is it was a late hit that was not called that not only altered the out come of this game it makes Bell look like a crew of duds instead of winners.

Frankly it does not surprise me. Win at all cost right? That is what the game has devolved into around here. What was once a game that developed character is now routinely a place where the worst of it is proudly put on display. Like last night.
