Shelby Valley and former ER headman Eric Ratliff return to East Ridge for the first time since 2006 (When Ratliff was HC of the Warriors). It's looking to be a pretty interesting match up. East Ridge came away with a 20-16 victory at Shelby Valley last season.

Thoughts/Predictions?
Sv 36 er 12.
Watched East Ridge play at the PCB the other night. I look for Shelby Valley to lay it to the Warriors.

Shelby Valley 28
East Ridge 12
I too think Valley takes this one and think they win by 20.
Valley puts a Running clock on them before halftime! Watched Valleys Defense the other night- held a good Paris team to 16 yards of offense on the game. Look for them to punish ER and get revenge from last year
Shelby Valley 28-7
Valley
SV by 14.
I think what makes this game so interesting is the coaches. Eric Ratliff was coached by Kenneth O'Quinn at Elkhorn City. I'm sure they all know each others schemes and tendencies very well. Upfront, I think I'd give the edge to Valley, but I like East Ridge's skill personnel better. Valley was heavily favored last year and East Ridge came away with the win. I think East Ridge will edge Valley again by a few points.
Shelby Valley 42 East Ridge 8
Valley, but some of the scores here are ridiculous. They probably win by 2 TD's. No running clock in this one.
SV wins big! Which half does pugsley get escorted off school property for his language and behavior? 1st or 2nd?
I'd bet my house there will be a running clock. Valley had better personal everywhere on the field. They held #8 in 1A Paris to 22 yards total offense Friday night and beat them by 3 TD's. East ridge was blown out by Hurley. Shelby Valley wins by as much as they want in this one. And pugsley shouldn't even come big don, won't be much of a game to watch lol

Didn't the same thing happen last year? East Ridge went on to beat Valley after losing to Hurley, who is a pretty decent 1A Virginia team too. I'm not saying East Ridge will win for certain, but I don't think it's wise to speculate on comparing scores when it hasn't worked in the past.

East ridge also had Jacob and Caleb skeens(went to Pikeville) last year, also had Michael fields and hylton who transferred to valley. They also had a couple older line man who graduated. Valley returned everyone, every skill player and every D starter. Lost one lineman that was replaced by 2 better ones this year. That's a pretty good comparison. I'm not gonna get much more into this thread; just giving some facts and opinions.

That sounds fair. Assuming East Ridge would lose because they lost to Hurley was a silly argument is the point I made. You noted the loss of talent due to some transfers and player graduation. That sounds like a legit argument. I'm sure the kids at East Ridge aren't hurting too bad since they've posted identical numbers during the first two weeks of the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The victor of this game will depend upon the men in the trenches.
This game is interesting considering that these two will be district rivals starting next year.

I know how the game went in 2013, but that was a game SV had well in hand until the turnovers started. Considering how Valley's defense completely shut down Paris, I'm going to say SV wins comfortably by a couple TD's.
Looks like it may be a rainy game on Friday night! Who do you all think this is in favor of?

Could be played in 6 inches of snow. SV wins big.
