I want to start a preseason over/under thread.
Ill post a list of 20 teams, from all over the state and check them at the end of the year.
If two or more members are tied after the points are tallied, the winner will be decided by who picks the closest wins of one team I will choose without going over.

Pick over or under for each team and pick how many wins the tiebreaker team will get. Don't forget if a team wins as many games as the number I give out, then its a push and nobody will receive any points for that game.

This is for the REGULAR SEASON only

1. Corbin- 7
2. Pulaski County- 8
3. Knox Central- 6
4. Clay County- 4
5. Newport Central Catholic- 6
6. Ryle- 4
7. Campbell County- 7

Yup.
Post under or over for each team.
Granny Bear Wrote:I don't know about most of these teams yet! When is the deadline?

30 minutes before the first game lol.
I started it a month before the season so we have a lot join in.
64SUR Wrote:Struggling how to play Gutville if I tie with your number I lose pts..:help::help:

You don't lose points. If a team gets the same number of wins as posted, its a push and nobody gets or loses any points on that game.

Am I going to have to get EKUALUM in here to explain gambling 101? lol.

For each team, simply choose if you think they will go over the amount of wins listed or under. If its the same as the number, than no points, so you have to choose over or under.

Ill go ahead choose mine so everyone can see the easiest way to do so.

BTW, I pick the numbers based on exactly what I think the teams will win. That's how odds work.

You could use 1/2 in the over under? If you set it at 7 1/2 then you can decide 7 or 8.
Only 1 team from out west makes this harder for us westerners

Most don't have schedules finalized

Of the ones with schedules finalized I feel most confident in Clay County being UNDER and Pike Central being OVER

Of the non-finalized schedules I expect Estill County and Etown to have the best potential to be over... and Central to have the best potential to be under... Centrla lost a lot and always plays a grueling schedule.
For you folks out in EKY, I'll give you some help with E'town.

TAKE THE OVER.

E'town was 6-5 last year and returns something like 18 starters (most of whom were sophomores last year). They also have the best running back (junior to be Berneil Cecil) in the Hardin-LaRue-Meade County area, which is saying something since Meade was a 6-A finalist last year, John Hardin is always good and Central Hardin was rock solid last year in 6-A (CH beat McCracken at McCracken and also beat Collins).

Also, Elizabethtown has a new coach, Mark Brown, who has taken two programs (Nelson, John Hardin) to the state finals.

I agree... I am hearing Etown should show marked improvement this year and be a team to be reckoned with in 2015.

There is some debate that the RB wont be eligible due to age in 2015 though, correct?

The Brown hiring was by far the biggest hiring in the State that noone really heard about. Brown is going to make them into a consistently stout program.

There's no eligibility in question. Bad rumor.

Cecil IS ALREADY 17. .... However, he does NOT turn 18 until October, which means we will STILL be 18 when he starts his junior year.

He will turn 19 during his senior season, but he'll avoid the deadline by more than 2 months.

(This is unless Elizabethtown has been lying about his real birthdate for years.)
MayfieldCardinal Wrote:Only 1 team from out west makes this harder for us westerners

To be honest, I wanted to add more WKY teams, but I wouldn't have known how to set a good line with them. That's also why I made a WKY team a tiebreaker.

I think im going to let you take over the scoring and explaining on this one.
You do it better. I don't want to allow the push on this one. It just confuses people. Either over or under. If its a push nobody gets points.
Aren't most teams' schedules similar to what they were last year?

I know E'town plays the same 10 teams. John Hardin plays 9-of-10 the same (only switch is Central Hardin bowl).

I think LaRue County might be 9-of-10 and Meade might be 10-of-10.

With 2014 being the second half of home-and-home years, skeds should be pretty close to last year.

Odd years is when there are more changes.
