Johnson Central (Golden Eagles) makes their 3rd straight trip to Rupp Arena.
Campbell County (Camels) makes their first appearance since the 2001 season.

Johnson Central is 25-6 from District 57.
Campbell County is 21-8 from District 37.
I think the previous state tournament experience for Johnson Central will be the deciding factor.

2012... We had John Hardin on the ropes in the 2nd qtr.
2013... We had Ballard on the ropes in the 2nd qtr.

I agree THOMCAT.... This is their 3rd trip in as many years. The "New" feeling of playing in the state tournament should never get old, but now, they know what to expect.
Jc 75 cc 65
Campbell County wins 62-59.
Johnson Central 78
Campbell Co 64

You maybe right but it sure did not help Montgomery Co. win a big game when needed. Campbell County does not care if JC played in previous tournaments. JC lost in the 1st round 2 years in a row and I don't care who they played.

To me it is a weak excuse to say their previous state tournament experience helped them. They either have the players or not!

Go Campbell County!

If you will look at my score CTCK_14... Johnson has the player. Confusednicker: I think

And I was not referring to your post, was I? I was referring to the post where the poster said their experience at state will help them. It is a ridiculous argument in my opinion.
Sorry CTCX 14. Did not realize that my opinion was weak and ridiculous. However, I think most would agree that with Hall, Gullett, Blair, Adkins, McPeek, McKenzie and Salyer playing in the last three tournaments and by adding Rice as a transfer, that is a lot of experience for our top 8 players. Rupp Arena and the state tournament is a different atmosphere than a typical high school game. I am sure that Campbell County will agree after next Wednesday. Anytime you want to discuss situational basketball conditions, scouting, X's and O's or game time adjustments, I'm game. And I'm sure it won't be weak or ridiculous.

You obviously missed my original statement about you may be right.

Good luck, maybe your 2 years of experience will get you a win and maybe it won't. I prefer to think the PLAYERS win the game and not how many times they get to experience it.

I saw your response that I may be right but my reference was to the two words of description, weak and ridiculous. It is the players that win the games. Experience is part of what makes the player. Players that are put in unfamiliar situations act accordingly. Nerves are one less thing that Central will have to endure and in state tournament play one thing can be the difference (i.e. nerves, injury, foul trouble, etc.).
If they do Gullet will be the difference.
Camels 68-64
I believe this will be one of the best 1st round games.

Johnson Central 55-53
I'll be rooting for the Camels, but I think Johnson Central will "get over the hump"

I couldn't resist
I'm waiting for Stardust to make his appearance in this thread....
I know this is the Sweet 16 and large margins of victory usually doesn't happen( note I said usually doesn't). I could see the Golden Eagles blowing this game to a lopsided 15-20 point game throughout the game. They're hot right now!

What kind of team does Campbell County have??

Are they tall... do they have good guard play... can they shoot the 3?
Do they press... do they play a zone D... how deep is their bench?
Johnson Central.
I have a bet for everyone! If Campbell County loses, I will not post for 30 days! If the Camels win, since they obviously are not hot enough right now and are going to be blown out by 15-20 in a lopsided game, you get a ridiculous Camel Signature, courtesy of me for the rest of the year! Deal? These young Camels have no chance, so this is a clear dumb bet by me to not be able to post for a month!!!
I don't know about Campbell County, but JCHS has one of the biggest teams I've seen all year. Gullett has come along to where he was one of the top two best scorers I saw in the 15th (Carr) and pairing that with Hall is scary. The Eagles play solid defense as well, and get good guard play as well as have depth.

With that said, they should be a tough out. As crazy as it is, I feel like the coach at JCHS has accomplished the 3 regional titles, but a win is in order in this Sweet 16 for me to consider him having done the job well.

No deal for this guy... That's why we play the game.

:dontthink
Me either. No WAY will I have a Camel Signature all during Black Bear football season!!!

Besides I don't want you to be gone for a month, Dusty. I will miss your porn.
JC should win this one, but after that, it will be tough.
I am rooting for the eagles though.

They have some size. I've saw them play twice this season and they can do it all. They can shoot the 3, drive on you, or post their big man down low. And let me warm you, they have a two playmakers that can absolutely run you out of the gym. Or at least they did in the games I watched. I'm thinking it was #10 and #30. Great players and scorers!

Stardust.. RunItUpTheGut could learn some thing from you :biglmao:
With this being their 3rd trip in a row Jc should win this game. They're very talented.. should be a good game to watch!

Dust, we don't want you gone for 30 days. You enjoy posting too much. I will make a counter offer. If Johnson Central wins, you have to wear my Eagle head avatar for 30 days. If Campbell County wins, I will wear a Camel avatar for 30 days AND post the winning Campbell County score following each post that I make for the same 30 day period.
This will likely be a good game. JC is playing great right now, but Campbell Co did just beat a very good Montgomery Co team. Unfortunately, the winner will likely play Scott Co.

Good luck JC!
