While it is still fresh in our minds I thought I would get this started. What is your top 10 and why. Some teams lose a lot for next year so it should be interesting.
1. Bell Co. (Morris best player in state next year)
2. Harlan co (Return everyone basically)
3. Harlan city (brock)
4. Clay Co (cotton)
5. Corbin (good nucleus back)
6. North Laurel (return all key players)
7. Whitley Co. (good young players
8. Lynn Camp (will be better than most think starting guards are back)
9. South Laurel (good young players)
10. Middlesboro (green)
Bell Morris
Harlan Ind. Great coach and some good young talent,
Harlan Co. Good coach Massingill and a bunch of young talent. One of these three are not going to make the region.
Whitley Whitley loses two of the top players in the region but returns a lot of talent.
Corbin Corbin loses the Wilson twins but there sister may be the best pass first point guard in the region next year.
Clay Cotton and Burchell.
North Laurel Return most everyone.
Pineville Return everyone.
Middlesboro. Will Green still be there this time next year.
Lynn Camp Playing in the worst district in the state has to help.
South Laurel Had to put someone here.
Knox Central Has the new A D. and Superintendent had enough.
Barbourville. Loses everyone and probably there coach also.
OBI. There coach does a great job.
Williamburg Don't see things getting any better
Jackson Co. What use to be a great program has hit rock bottom. When will the administration say enough is enough.
Red Bird Red Bird enough said.

I never once mentioned Mike Ashurst.......show me where I said his name......But hey, nice to see you confess what we all know went on!
If I were going to take a look at next season, the easiest pick would be taking Bell, but im not sure they have the coaching to get there. Just because you have the best player doesn't mean you have the best team or will win ball games.

I would group them like this next year...

Bell
Harlan
Harlan County
Clay

Whitley
Corbin
North
South

Mboro
Lynn Camp
Bville

The 52nd will have a good team go home to district again. It wouldn't surprise me if it were Bell County
I could see HC, Harlan, or Bell winning region. I think its a long shot for the rest, except Clay who could be very good if everyone sticks around.
Is Burchell retiring at Clay Co?
1. Bell County
2. Harlan

3. Harlan County
3. Clay County

5. Whitley County
6. Corbin

7. North Laurel
8. South Laurel
9. Middlesboro
10. Pineville
1. Bell Co
2. Harlan
3. Clay Co

Easy there Whizzard.....I never said you mentioned Ashurst. You are showing your paranoia again. You may think you are Wizzard but my money is on Magic Mike:lmao:

That's the same reason I am putting Corbin ahead a of Whitley. Coaching makes a huge difference when all else is close to even. Jones blew this year at Whitley. He probably had overall the most talent in the region.
Barbourville coach has gave up her Basketball coaching responsibilities. From my understanding to spend more time with her family.
Is Burchell retiring at Clay Co?
Haven't heard that one.

WOW!!!! Your picks confuse me. If CORBIN is the best team in the 13th region WHY do you have BELL as #1?? That makes no sense.

No, spook with the coach the last week, said he would be back next year and thought he would be better than most think.

Are they going to stay in house, or are they going to open the search up?

I was told it is wide open.
I was told it is wide open.
I was told two weeks ago that mills was being replaced by Andrea Hillard. I figured it was all rumor but who knows now.

Hilliard resigned a couple weeks ago at The City school and some of there fans believe this is real likely. I personally believe our new A D and Supt. will want to show they are going to great strides to get the best they can get for the youth of Knox Co. This may end up being Hillard for she is good coach in my mind, and would be a huge improvement over what we have had. But I look for them to interview a lot of people looking for the right person. Hope they make a great hire the girls of Knox deserve a lot more than what they have received from the school system, and there is some more coaches up there that need to be gone.

I read tonight that in the local papers that Hillard made it clear she is not applying she is raising her kids. She would be a good candidate . I do believe they are really trying to find the Best possible coach for this program. On the subject of other coaches who else should they get rid of?

The girls volleyball team has never had much success, they have finally replaced the softball coach , i m not sure about him but at least his practices look organized, we should dominate in track and field and I saw in today's paper that we had a couple new coaches which is way over due. Our Tennis program has been a joke. In my opinion our passed administrations have only worried about having a team not about there success. I really believe the administration in place will actually care about the kids and there success. At least we have some hope now.
Good Luck KC in finding the right coach. You have way too much talent not to be toward the top every year.
