How many teams have won a state title but didn't win there district championship that same year?
Christian Co. about 3 years ago is the most recent...I think.
In history? Tons of them.
Christian Co has been the last one in the past 15 years or so. If I remember correctly, the Dirk Minniefield Lafayette team in the late 70s and the Edmonson Co team in 76 were district runners up.
Come to think of it, I don't think the Breckenridge Co team in 1995 won their district.
