What has hurt McCreary Central this whole season and tonight, has been going for it on 4th down (fake punting) and not converting and giving the other team great field position, they done this 4 times tonight against Estill County and did not convert a single one while Estill was scoring on the very first play (sometimes second play) from scrimmage.
Trevor Jones lead Estill with 60 rushing yards on 3 attempts, 2 touchdowns. Also was 4/5 for 81 yards passing and 3 touchdowns.
Estill had something like 130 total yards of offense to McCreary Central's 25 at halftime. McCreary Central scored on it's opening drive in the 3rd on a big 4th down play by QB James Gregory. McCreary Central would recover the onside kick and keep it until about mid-way through the 4th when Trevor Jones returned the ball 64 yards back for a Touchdown on a kickoff return after MC had scored.
Estill finishes the regular season at 5-5 and will travel to Russell next Friday for first round playoff game.
