One down, one to go?

In the eyes of many, it's been a quiet start to the 2014 recruiting class for Kentucky, with only two commits under its belt. However, Thursday is shaping up to be a key day for the Wildcats.

Devin Booker, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Moss Point (Miss.), committed to Kentucky on Thursday.

Booker chose the Wildcats over Missouri, Michigan and Michigan State.

Thursday night, fellow four-star shooting guard James Blackmon will announce his decision. The former Indiana commit was thought to be a Kentucky lean, but Indiana has made up plenty of ground following a visit to Bloomington this past weekend. Michigan is also right there.

As for Booker, he's one of the best shooters in the class of 2014. Ranked No. 26 in the 247Sports Composite, Booker has excellent mechanics on his jumper and is deadly when left open behind the arc. He has decent size and strength, despite lacking explosive quickness. The son of former Missouri star Melvin Booker, this four-star prospect also has a solid basketball IQ and plays effectively within an offense.

Booker joins five-star forward Karl Towns and top-50 point guard Tyler Ulis in John Calipari's 2014 recruiting class. The relationship between Ulis and Booker was a big factor in the Wildcats landing Booker.

Next up on Kentucky's wish list is Blackmon. We will see in a matter of hours whether Kentucky is set on the perimeter for the 2014-15 season.
This is how UK will go.....we will be great a year, suck a year.

You will get commits when you do well, and not when you do bad.

This 2014 class isnt that strong overall anyways.
What are you rambling on about?

Petrino!
Always nice to pick up shooters.
I can see Cal has changed his recruiting style after last year. He is going for some more guys that will stay more than one year. All three of the 2014 class are more than one year players!!!
Towns might be a one and done guy. 7' guys that can hit treys are valuable in the pro's. Just hope they get S. Johnson.

I think Dakari comes back. What will that do to Townes as far as starting goes?

I would be surprised if Dakari comes back and doesnt start.
