Collins drops out of Litkenhous Top 20 after 59-9 thrashing of Atherton (yes, I realize Atherton is ranked very low). Makes total sense. Future opponents Central Hardin and Anderson Cty ahead of them...will Collins continue to drop if they continue winning big? :lame: Some of the teams ahead of them and Simon Kenton make no sense at all.
Did Covington Catholic get rewarded by losing 42-6 to Highlands? They are at #3 ahead of Lexington Catholic and Boyle. CC, no disrespect, but something just ain't right about that. Let's show some consistency with these rankings. :please:
The Lit rankings are just numbers punched into a computer. They are always a little off.
Always a lot of holes in Lit ratings

Last week at 3-1, CovCath was ahead of Highlands at 5-0 and in third place so they did drop. I would agree, however, that there are issues with the rating system. Makes no sense for Collins to drop like that.
IF they were to beat Anderson, they most definitely would not lose points...not sure how they could. But that's a big IF.

If IFs and BUTS were candy and nuts...This would not be such a BIG IF for Collins to beat Anderson - this same group of Seniors beat Anderson in JV and freshmen years. Boyle and Collins two best teams on Anderson's Schedule. South Oldham is the only common opponent, Collins beat them 42-14 at their place with many 2nd stringers in...could have been a lot worse. Let's just hope both teams remain healthy 'til year's end. Again, not such a big IF as you might think.
Consistency in the rankings would be nice but is there a such thing?
Dang Simp, it is just the lit ratings and we all know they suck and have always sucked. You have been around long enough to know that...LOL

We all know that it will be Highlands vs. Collins/Owensboro in the finals. Well lets hope so. A trip to Owensboro is going to be worth watching.
When your team drops after a 59-6 win, it sucks, regardless if it's Litkenhous.
And when Collins remains low on the Litkenhous, it's just must more fodder for the east bracket kook-aid drinkers.
The Lit Ratings get much better as the season goes along. The 1st half of the season they don't have much to go on. Bowling Green won 58-0, but dropped out of 1st place in favor of Trinity. Computer rankings are perfect matches for teams that play tough schedules. Bowling Green has won 35 in a row. Highlands has won like 6 championships in a row and is undefeated this year. It's hard to comprehend that a 2-3 team is ranked higher than both, but they probably are as good or better than both of these teams. It's above my pay grade.
Yes, I realize that the Lit is based on some weird formula, but it still sucks when your team wins big and you drop several spots. Does someone get paid for putting the Lit together? If so, :yikes:
And a team that you beat beats a higher ranked team the same day...it stinks...

Yep...everybody knows that.
The Lit ratings usually don't get real accurate until around playoff time. Mayfield well be dropping over the next 3 weeks due to lack of comp as well.
