* The BGR Power Rankings are a different take on rankings offering a regional breakdown with all classes combined. These rankings are intended to be fluid with merit awarded on performance, strength of schedule, and the general "it" factor. A team is not guaranteed to retain their spot with a victory, nor are they guaranteed to move down due to a loss**
1. Highlands- One day Highlands will not be #1 in NKY...that day just does not appear to be in the immanent future.
2. Simon Kenton- Pioneers have a strong core returning from a team who turned heads in 2012.
3. Conner- If the success of the 2012 wasn't enough, having possibly the State's top offensive player in Drew Barker certainly does not hurt.
4. Covington Catholic- The Colonels were arguably the second best team in 4A behind Highlands and have a good foundation on offense to build from.
5. Newport Central Catholic- With a set of about 6 teams all on equal ground for the #5 spot NCC gets the initial favor for being the defending 2A State Champs.
