So through an assault weapons ban, ending of the ban, virtually all states allowing concealed carry, and a slew of other laws both pro and anti gun the rate dramatically goes down. To me this proves that no law can prevent violence, or help stop it.

I'm not condoning what Australia did, but crime has went down remarkably in AU since these new laws took effect several years ago. One thing though, AU didn't have a constitutional amendment like our 2nd amendment.

I'm indifferent one way, or the other, as to more extensive background checks. If they do them fine, if not, fine. I'm good either way. I can pass anything they through at me.

The elephant in the room no one wants to mention is that Blacks while making up 13% of the population account for 55% of gun murders. I personally believe that if there were more jobs available in inner cities this rate would be reduced dramatically Our gun crime rate is a cultural one. No law can fix that. In Australia the crime rate had been dropping since the late 60's. And non gun related crime is up. Including murder, a murder is the same whether a gun is used or not. Australia never had a huge gun violence problem to begin with.

Notice the rate stays pretty well even. Like I said no law will ever prevent crime or stop bad things from happening, what can however is creation of jobs and giving folks in the inner cities a choice other than crime.

Id be cool with universal background checks as long as a system was set up that was better than nics and that didn't require a ffl dealer to perform the check, something like a free citizens background check that could be done online. Im not sure how you could work it out but dealers are going to charge people to take time out of their day to perform a check, they take around 15 minutes and there is no way a dealer can afford to lose that time on the phone with the fbi.

this article goes to show just how effective the gun control groups use of propaganda has been.
We cant even keep up with illegal mexicans crossing the border.
How are we ever going to stop guns?

Its impossible, unless your a law abiding citizens, then your punished for the actions of others.
