Model decided to cancel a game and not tell Hazard. Its the big city mentality of too good to travel to the mountains. Ballard did this a couple of years ago. It's a shame the mountain teams have to travel to these places and not get return trips.
Why did they cancel? Was Hazard already on the field warming up when they found out?
Yes, Hazard was on the field warming up, umpires were there too. Model said they were afraid to play us and they were trying to find a girls softball team as a replacement game.
Madison Central done the same thing to Estill last year but we were suppose to go over there
Model technically did the same thing to East Ridge. They were suppose to play after our game. So we ended up getting to play East Ridge when they showed up at our field to play Model.
That's shame. Don't know why a team would schedule just to turn around and cancel it. I could understand if it had to do with weather but just to cancel to be cancelling.

LOL!!! Richmond is not a big city.
One reason to look at contracts for baseball. Gentlemens agreement does not always hold true. Look at the expense when this happens. Payment to the umps still is paid for their time and travel, cost of concession as they no doubt had food prepared, having kids travel and the cost. There has to be someone held accountable from the teams that leave another school in this situation. Phone calls are not that difficult to make no matter what the circumstances.
Big city or small town, it is a reflection of Model as a whole.
