Riley Barnes drilled a 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining in overtime to give Simon Kenton a 67-66 win over Grant County in the 32nd District championship on Friday night.

Grant County led by as many as nine points in the first half, but the Pioneers battled back to tie the score at 32 at halftime and jumped out to a 38-32 lead in the third quarter.

Tyler Carr kept Grant County in the game by scoring the team’s first 18 points, en route to a game-high 37, and helped it to a 57-51 lead with just over 1 minute remaining in regulation.

Barnes then took over and scored the final six points of regulation for Simon Kenton, including a 3-pointer with less than 10 seconds on the clock to send the game into overtime.

Simon Kenton improves to 18-10, while Grant County is 24-5.

Can SK finally make a run in the 8th?
I would hate to play Grant in the first round. Oldham, Collins and possibly Owen will not want them
