Shelby Valley's Cortney Bentley broke Becky Abner's state win record (125) during action in this weekend's Lowe's Classic. Bentley tied the record while Shelby Valley defeated #17 Louisville Manual 1-0 in action Saturday morning at North Laurel. She broke the record when SV defeated #23 Larue County 4-1 at South Laurel. Congratulations to Cortney Bentley and the Shelby Valley Ladies for thier accomplishments this weekend. It appears the Lady BatKats are beginning to meet their pre-season expectations.:Thumbs: :thumpsup:

SV finished in a 4 way tie in their pool.
SV defeated Manual and Laure...Manual defeated Larue and South Laurel...South Laurel defeated Estill and Shelby Valley...Estill defeated Shelby Valley and Manual...Larue defeated Estill and South Laurel. The tie-breaker placed Estill in the top spot. I believe Estill and North Laurel played for the overall championship. 6 Regional Champions and 3 Regional Runners-up participated in the tournament. A tremendous collection of some very solid softball programs.
According to WYMT , she threw a one hitter against Manual Saturday . Thats impressive .
