Does anyone really believe that the unemployment rate allegedly dropped to 7.8%? Is anyone surprised that the figure went under 8% right before the election? Has anyone ever doubted that this would allegedly happen? Are voters really too stupid to see through this manipulation?

The answers are: No. No. Yes. Yes. Anyone with a scintilla of intelligence knew months ago that the number would be "reported" as under 8% at this time. Only a true idiot would believe that the numbers have not been doctored. The convenient timing of the drop should be obvious to all. And now we have our "October Surprise".
To reach Kardashian's needed figure, the labor department "found" 86,000 jobs that it had previously "missed" in July and August to add to the alleged 114,000 new jobs for September. Surely, no one believes all of this, do they? So soon after Kardashian got hammered in the debate? Only fools believe this stuff- and therein lies the problem.
"scintilla of intelligence"

Geez Harry, your vocabulary never ceasese to amaze me.
Starting to think you may actually be a lawyer IRL!!

Oh, and by the way, I do agree with your post!!

Granny Bear, this convenient jobs report, how it was "constructed", the timing, and the circumstances surrounding it are a textbook example of the legal axiom of res ipsa loquitur. And, anyone putting any faith in this report should be aware of another legal axiom, caveat emptor.

Sounds like a lot of doubletalk but both rules are absolutely applicable and on target in this matter.
I think it is a conspiracy as well, just like the gas prices...
Parable:

Barry enters his senior year in high school ranked 60th in his class. He graduates 25th in his class. All his family and friends are very proud of Barry and expect great things from him in the future.

Surprisingly, it is learned that Barry's GPA never changed from the beginning to end of his senior year. It was 2.5 throughout. What happened to make Barry look so good?

Further examination of the facts indicates that 35 of Barry's classmates who had higher GPAs than Barry had dropped out of school during their senior year.

Barry doesn't look so good now, does he? As goes the class rank so goes the unemployment figure.
Reminds me of a GREAT quote. "Stats are like bikinis, they show a lot, but not everything!!!"

Did anyone ever doubt that if the numbers went below 8%, that a republican would claim it was a set up deal?
Nah!!

You know, I don't like Rush Limbaugh very much, but someone posted a link on my facebook this morning, and I clicked it out of curiosity. Turns out, he actually predicted this would happen in December 2011.
Well let's see this administration has pretty much misled us starting on the campaign trail to present. Just hitting the high spots, he promised to cut the national debt by half, the stimulus of 2009 would keep our unemployment rates down under 8%, if ObamaCare was passed our health insurance premiums were to go down $2,500, the Fast and Furious Scandal, the war on coal, the on-line video caused the deaths of our ambassador and the others, so no I don't believe it.

If a republican were in office, and it dropped, you'd be slapping him on the ass, and saying "good going, I knew you could bring it down".

If a Republican were in office and had the record Obama has today, he would not have a snowball's chance in hell of getting re-elected.

No, but my friends who are STILL out of work do:popcorn:
Today’s Employment Situation report showed that in September “total unemployment” including all marginally attached workers went flat at 14.7% while the traditionally reported unemployment rate declined to 7.8%.

The traditional unemployment rate is calculated from the monthly household survey results using a fairly explicit definition of “unemployed” (essentially unemployed and currently looking for full time employment) leaving many workers to be considered effectively “on the margin” either employed in part time work when full time is preferred or simply unemployed and no longer looking for work.

In other words, unemployment is unchanged!

I will go wherever to find a job, so as to take care of my family. Maybe they should do the same. If my coal working friends aren't willing to travel to find work, to feed their family, maybe their family needs to re-think things. It's all about priorities. And yes, if you knew me, you would already know I would tell them that. Nobody seemed to worry about me traveling to find work, while they were able to sleep in their bed. I have worked all over this USA, even as far as New Mexico, to feed my family. If you expect me to have sympathy for anybody that won't do whatever, or go anywhere, to take care of their family, you are barking up the wrong tree, hoss.

What??
^ What work. They are professionals who have had their livelihoods destroyed because of one mans poor policies. And how dare you compare yourself to others by stating that YOU would search to the worlds end to find work, yet your belief that others in the nation are not! You are foolish to think that others are not doing everything they can to find work! The only work that is available is part time work, and yes, those jobs are filled. So the work that is available is not enough to put food on tables, but many of our friends are killing themselves to work as many menial tasks as possible, yet still have lost everything that they had worked for to attain! It's self righteous comments like "I will go find the work" that is ludicrous and quite frankly ridiculous when thinking that others whose families are far worse off after these four years of a nation destroying leadership, are not out doing everything they can to survive! Kudos, you and your family should be happy that you exhausted all measures to find work to sustain them! But you are one of few, not many, and certainly not for lack of trying! Instead, this leadership does NOT want you to work. This leadership NEEDS those on food-stamps to continue to rise already above the current record number of those who are on them today. Because this leadership needs everyone to NEED the government - thus Socialism!

I'm happy for those who found the temporary jobs. However, the total unemployment rate is still at 14.7%. The Bureau of Labor Statistics qualified the new 7.8% rate saying it included part time jobs and argricultural jobs and therefore is somewhat of an abberation. The rate will likely be back up to the 'new normal' by Nov 2nd. Obama knows this fact all too well but, is none the less willing to go out campaigning today as if these part time jobs will do anything for families, announcing in triumphant fashion that the unemployment rate is now the lowest since he took office. There were only 114,000 real jobs to be had on this report which is essentially treading water.

It isn't a D vs R thing. Your crybaby, and consumate divider-in-chief, turned me against him from the outset when I heard him say, "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket". At that point I knew we were in real trouble. That's his vision for American industry, regulated business dealings. He'll do the the exact same thing if he gets the chance on the domestic level as well. Energy usage in your home and mine will be regulated and, if you exceed your allotment you'll pay hefty fines to the government. I like the truth from my legislators and presidents and I know that doesn't matter much to you. You gag at a gnat but swallow a camel when it comes to this idea of word twisting.

There is plenty of work outside of the coal fields. You have to go looking, though.

 What he said!^
I don't doubt the numbers, but the unemployment percentage is misleading in itself. It's not much to get excited about.
This was a household survey and a small (by comparison) number of households were sampled. Employees of he BLS know this report is skewed. But, there is one little devil in the details that may pack quite a punch for the president come the 1st of November. It is very likely that the unemployment rate will return to the mean or even higher in that report. If Obama tries to make too much out of the 7.8% report of today's news, what will his explanation be just days before the election for the return to a number higher than 8% again?
Anyone excited over 7.8% is a fool from the start. Lets do some number crunching shall we:

BLS stats show:

-43 months total with 33 months straight of 5.0% or less under Bush.
-84 months below 6.0% under Bush.
After the election it will be adjusted to it's correct number.
Glad that KY doesn't elect a President.
