1. Russell County- Lakers are all alone at the top after another convincing win and also thanks in part to Whitley County (a previous Laker vicitim) winning a huge clash with Somerset.

2. Whitley County- Blame it on the fog, blame it on the rain, blame it on the playcalling, but you can't take away a win in the Briar Patch in a pitcher's duel. Colonels make the jump.

3. Somerset- There is no denying Somerset can play some serious defense, but for the 4th straight week and 5th time in 6th game their offense simply doesn't look very sharp at all causing major cause for concern. The schedule certainly doesn't get any easier now either.

4. Wayne County- The Cardinals take care of business in a monstrous game for playoff indications against Corbin, and in the process have their sole black mark a "quality" loss at Bell.

5. Monroe County- The Falcons improve to 6-1 with a win over previously 5-1 Adair County that was closer than expected. Maybe Adair County is under the radar, but until they can prove it against quality competition it has to be chalked up more to Monroe possibly playing down a little.

Trending Upward:
Williamsburg- Jackets continue to lay in the bushes waiting for their opportunity to crack the Top 5.

Pulaski County- Maroons gain more leigitmacy beating a quality North Laurel team.

Trending Downward:
South Laurel- A shootout loss to Southwestern is their 5th Straight loss as they are quikcly becoming the bottom of the barrell for the big schools in SKY.

Corbin- Poor Corbin. They are now 2-4 and the biggest example of a polarizing team you can find. The optimist says they have lost all 4 games by one TD and are that close to being 6-0 and possibly making an arguement for the best team in SKY. The pessimist says they don't know how to win the close game and their two wins are over teams that are a combined 1-12. The truth falls somewhere in between.

Game of the Week:
Somerset at Danville- In a district that very well may have 3 of the Top 5 2A teams in the state, this is a massive. Not only does a win give one team the inside track to the District Title and an all important home playoff game, but the loser suddenly is forced into a must win when they play LCA to potentially avoid a 3 seed and playing all their playoff games on the road.
Nicely done once again.
The Monroe Co - Adair Co game was a bit close, but Monroe held what had been a fairly high powered offense to 6 points.

Not sure if Warren East is considered in the South region, but if they are they should be knocking on the door as well.

Great work again EKU.
i think wayne at #3 maybe even #2
