You mean "dumb, ignorant people" that choose to vote different than what you believe is right and good for the country? Would you rather have a dictatorship, with only your kind(political thought) of people allowed to vote?
^ there's a reason the framers of the Constitution add the Electoral College as a step in the Presidential elections

We're leaning on one now, four more years would nearly seal the deal.

I would prefer that, in regard to elections, we run the country like all successful corporations are run. Only stockholders, those who actually have some financial investment in the company, vote. Thus, only actual income tax payers (Those who actually have some investment in the country) should be allowed to vote.

Our system, as it is, allows the freeloaders to vote and they do so by voting for whomever will give them more freebies.

To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, no country can survive for long once the "voters" learn that they can vote themselves freebies.

You going to tell your retired mother/father/grandmother/grandfather they shouldn't vote? With deductions, they are most likely 47% people.

Actually, those of them who are still living pay income taxes. All of them paid and/or all paid income taxes all their lives.

I am obviously talking about the tens of millions of freeloaders who don't pay income taxes and never did pay income taxes. Neither them nor their descendents ever paid income taxes. Their lives for generations have consisted of living off the taxpayers. Of course, they all vote for Democrats. Many can't read or write (Of course, they can reproduce in large numbers.) but they have been trained to find the rooster on the ballot. they know that their freebies come from that rooster.

This, TheRealVille, is the real world- not the world of BS spread by your boy, Bucky.

This is a perfect example of how dems take a remark made by an opponent, and distort it to oblivion and back again. No way was Romney intending to dishonor the life's work of millions of folks who worked their whole lives. Not only did they work and pay taxes their whole lives but they raised families, budgeting their money and were self supporting folks of honor. And they did all that, after the majority of them served their country in WWII, Korea or Viet Nam.

Harry Rex is right on with his criticism of folks on welfare who haven't struck a tap to provide the first thing for themselves or their vast numbers of progeny, getting to vote so they can stay on the gravy train. And Benjamin Franklin was a true visionary and a man of incredible intellect as he said-- "When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." What's treasonous to me, is the fact that any public official or party platform plank is openly supportive of this outrage, even to the point of criticizing the other party for not doing the same thing, as in the case of the democrats, ie Nancy Pelosi. What happened to dignity and self respect?

Part of the makeup of the 47% that don't pay taxes are the low income with deductions, and the retired with deductions also, along with the freeloaders. Maybe Romney should have made that clear in his statement.

The low income with deductions crowd all take the standard deduction (althoug they really have no legitimate deductions) as well as the exemptions allowed for their sizeable group of "dependents". Then they get numerous credits which lead to large payments (not refunds) to them. They pay no income taxes but, instead, receive large welfare payments from the income taxes paiy by the rest of us.

Most in this group are a part of the freeloaders. Some of them are not.
