49ers Kicker David Akers tied the NFL's longest Field Goal at 63 yards today against the Packers right before halftime to give the 49ers a 16-7 lead over the Green Bay Packers at halftime.

49ers currently lead the Packers 23-7 at the start of the 4th
And they say Kickers aren't football players! Stupid
It seems like someone ties or breaks this record every year.

PEDs? lol
Hasn't this record been tied like 10 times now? Lol

Just waiting for that day someone hits a 64 yarder
This was AWESOME - for the extra Fantasy points that is....
A Kentucky guy gets a record. Woo hoo!

Actually....Akers is only the fourth player to ever hit a FG from this distance.

The three other kickers to hit 63-yarders were New Orleans' Tom Dempsey in 1970, Denver's Jason Elam in 1998 and Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski in 2011.

I guess we can count a former U of L player as a KY guy...lol. He was born in Lexington...lol.
A better record broken was Reed's career INT return yards tonight.
