COFFEEVILLE, ALA- An English teacher at a small Alabama High School has been charged with having sex with at least 4 students and allegedly involving one in a plot to kill her husband.

Officials released few details but said the husband, a gym teacher who taught at the same school last year, was unharmed.

School officials were first tipped off to concerns about a teacher in 2004 by an unsigned letter accusing Sharon Linton Rutherford of sleeping with students, Clark County Schools Superintendent Gerald Stephens said.
Stephens said the school investigated and informed police, but they had little to go on.
Then on April 5, one of the students told Coffeeville High School Principal, Janice Richardson that he had sex with the 30-year-old teacher.

Authorities arrested Rutherford Tuesday and charged her with solicitation of murder,rape,sexual abuse and two counts of enticing a child for immoral purposes. She was ordered held on $55,000 bond.

OK boys and girls, here we go again. At least this one was a little more creative. She not only had sex with her students, but she tried to get them to "snuff" out the "old man" at the same time. ( And no BFritz, I didn't see a picture of her.)

This isn't the first time that one has planned to use the student to kill the husband either. A few years ago a similar incident happened.

What is wrong with these teachers ????

If I had kids, they would be home-schooled.

Thet need to do a really good background check on these new teachers.

I'd be mad at that comment if I wasn't wondering what she looked at before I got to the end of your post. Honestly though, the only reason I have mentioned that in the other cases was because the one lady was hot and got off with no charge.

What can you even say about this one?

I'm glad that I am getting out of high school this year before one of my teachers decides to offer me extra credit.
