what is wrong with scrimmaging teams at camp? kids are already in pads and making full contact on each other, whats wrong with hitting other teams?
^ You can scrimmage! You get two scrimmages per year. THERE IS NO Coach that wants tow spend every week scrimmaging another team when you have so much to do to get your own team ready. Trust me, coaches are content with 2 scrimmages - THE COACHES WOULD SAY NO! (Speaking from experience Wink )
Only get one scrimmage if you play a game week 0. If i'm not mistaken.
The season shall consist of a maximum of ten (10) regular
season games and the opportunity to play regular season games
shall conclude at the end NFHS corresponding week 17. Any
school may play one of the allowable regular season games
during Week 0 (NFHS corresponding week 7) provided that the
total schedule does not exceed ten (10) regular season games
and that the allowable number of scrimmages in subsection (b)
is reduced to one.
Start the 17th you are allowed only one scrimmage. Start the 24th you are allowed two.
I know several teams that go to camp and never scrimmage. They dont want to risk injury. Talked to a coach today that was leaving for camp and said they never scrimmage because they use camp to install a lot of things. Get a great deal of teaching done at this time.
^ Amen! A little over zealous to want to scrimmage all the time!
