Shelby Valley defeated a strong Haysi team last night at BatKat Field. Cortney Bentley limited Haysi to 3 hits on the night, and the SV defense was impressive to say the least. Caitlyn Case went 2-3 at the plate and Gina Hall's 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 1st gave SV all the run support they needed. Esther Fleming's speed on the bases allowed her to manufacture a run in the 4th to set the final score. Congrats Lady BatKats...

From what I have seen and heard, they are playing very close to the level they played at during last year's regional tournament. And I heard their coach say they were only going to continue to get better. Early in the year I heard they might have lost a bunch of players; if so, it doesn't seem to have hindered their performance.
